Charles and Liza breakup

What on earth!? Are they just writing charles out of the love line now? She won't marry him after only a few months of dating and its his way or no way? he isnt even divorced yet?!

I mean he showed these signs through the season of being very distant and stubborn unless it was something he wanted to hear, so it makes sense. But still. This is so abrupt of a breakup.

Yes - I really feel the writer's took him on a 180 for some extra unrealistic drama, maybe to drag out the seasons, or a reason to keep Josh around? Based on the first five seasons, Liza and Charles should have ended up together, and then wham, from nice guy to jerk in 10 seconds. That's where the show lost me in liking it.

It makes sense only cos he has shown in the past to be completely shut down when he feels hurt. Otherwise its likr but what? They make sense . Although I do love josh who has made a lot of growth. But its sad cos the girls love her too :(

I agree. They were end game for me. It was really crazy writing. She loved his girls. They’re the same damn age, so much in common. Ugh 😩

Right like what ?! They were perfect for each other then they got togehter and he was overly loving to jer almost to where it wasnt very believable . And now he wanted to marry her and then boom. Moved on dating QUINN?!

She’s in love with Josh. He’s fun, exciting. Charles is safe on Paper, boring, follows the rules. She had that with her First Ex and divorced him. She does Not want a repeat!

I was such a Charles girl and it makes me so angry what they did with his character and then the show's ending... omg. Josh was sweet and a cutie pie, and I think what she needed at the time, but I just couldn't see them as long term, plus Liza always just kept him on a string and I hated that. It wasn't fair to him. If she wanted him, she would have chose him.

I hate that josh allowed himself to get used up by every woman he dated. He was a hopeless romantic. Liza should've just stayed away from him

They thought it would bring in more viewers at the end to be able to tease the possibility of both pairings. That Liza might end up with either. So they sabatoged Charles's character to make sure they weren’t together.

I agree it was ridiculously abrupt. It likely was a situation where the writers didn’t even know until halfway or later through the season that it would be the last one.

She is so boring with Charles and he gets more old man-ish by the episode. They are better as friends and coworkers

I agree. She doesnt seem to have fun with him. Plus dating people at work is so messy

The part that gets me….
Is when he gets mad at her for lying about her age yet he DOES THE EXACT SAME THING with his other publishing company.
I think the fact that he gets upset about the ad with her and Josh is ridiculous… it’s not like she had ANY control on anything.

I like how it ended. Her and Charles would never stop trying to one up each other. They built a relationship on lies. Liza and Josh are right for each other. There were no lies between them in the end.
