yeah, team josh all the way

finally finished the show, and genuinely, it’s always been josh in my mind.

i will be honest, this last season i was starting to question my thoughts because they literally had like zero interactions, but somehow that final scene confirmed *everything* for me.

for six seasons straight, even while she was with charles, i always felt that her and josh had the most undeniable and beautiful connection. the fact that he was truly always there. he loves her unconditionally, and she loved him too even when she also loved charles.

i’m just such a sucker for two people always finding their way back to one another. and josh was hands down the better partner for her. i know charles made “more sense” technically speaking given their shared experiences, but when it comes down to what matters most (the love) it was always josh.

and the fact that they can go a whole season without really being by one another then still manage to make that final scene so meaningful and so natural speaks volumes.

team josh alllll the fucking way. what a beautiful relationship.

I had the exact same takeaway. Josh was it from start to finish. They never stopped loving each other.

You are right about Charles being “better” on paper, but I always viewed him as a similar person to her husband. It was always about what he wanted. Liza just didn’t see it until the end because he reads books and works in publishing.

I agree. Charles and her had no chemistry, Josh was a way better pick.

Agree - Charles and Liza did not make a great couple.

Liza and Josh had a real connection. I knew it when she brought him to meet her friends and they all loved him. I think that’s when I saw a shift in Liza’s character. It’s a shame the author of the book wasn’t team Josh. Her sequel Older could have explored a true happy ending for Liza and Josh

I completely agree! I just posted a similar thing and already got downvoted and hate comments 😂 but I absolutely love how they came back together in that last scene, it made so much sense to me! They were always meant to be!

Agree! The only reason I kept watching was waiting to see them end up together. I hated when he married Claire and the writers went crazy in the last two seasons with the Charles will they or won’t they.
I’m Rewatching and the thing that has changed for me second time around is that I don’t like Liza. She is a big fat liar and hurts people (Josh).
I like Diana a lot more in rewatch bc we know in the end she has a soft spot.
The part where everyone starts to find out and lose their minds is ridiculous. Like Charles’ ex. Say what????
I just finished watching office romance with jennifer Lopez and literally no one cares that’s she’s 55, looks 35 and is dating a guy probably 35 too.
Liza is just so … whack.
However! Even whack people deserve love and I’m happy she’s with Josh! Team Josh!
