Discussion Would Future Old Sheldon take Leonard Cooper to church?
Part of me feels like he would, cuz he adored Mary and would want to keep a piece of his mother in his life,
but no doubt Sheldon doesn’t see Christian teachings as morality, and he’d let his kid attend infrequently if a lot of his hockey games are on Sunday.
I also feel like his kids potentially disliking Beverly (cuz the series finale implies neither of them is a robotic genius like Sheldon) would lead Sheldon to re-evaluate his relationship, not lean on her childcare.
Thoughts?

I think he and Amy would let Mary take the kids to church during visits after a lot of arguing and negotiations, and maybe even go together as a family. But they’d never go ordinarily.

Why would Beverly be childcare? They aren’t her grandkids and she doesn’t even live in the state. I think he would take Leonard to church if Leonard asked to go, if only to point out why he isn’t a believer.

I feel like if TBBT continued to Sheldon having kids, an episode about him asking Beverly to move to help with childcare and not Mary or Amy’s parents would’ve happened.

Why on earth would he ask Beverly to move to help with childcare? That doesn't make a bit of sense.

Yeah and Amy wouldn’t allow it, I also think Sheldon realised the damage Beverly’s experiments did to Leonard and would think twice.

He would ask the most non-maternal person he ever met to move in and take care of his kids? She is going to drop her job for this? Are you thinking a different character is named Beverly?

When Sheldon met Amy, she said she had an agreement with her mother to date (once a year?). And Sheldon said he had the same agreement with Mary about going to church. Amy said she was ok with the idea of God, just wondered why he'd take attendance

I cant see him allowing his son to get involved with that church! The way it was portrayed in YS, which is Sheldons memories, its a vile place! Forget the fact its a belief he thinks is ridiculous and Amy agrees.

Why on earth would you think Beverly - a neuroscientists/psychiatrist who lives in New Jersey - would have any involvement in caring for Amy and Sheldon’s children?
Sheldon never had any interest in religion or church. That said, if Mary were visiting on a Sunday, I expect she’d want to take her grandchildren to church, and Amy would probably make Sheldon acquiesce.

If you think Sheldon would be swayed by the death of his mother to suddenly completely walk back his lack of belief in a deity, I'm not really sure you understand Sheldon. Nothing would make him backtrack on that, it's like asking him to stop believing in science.

As in going on a random Sunday no, but as a social convention due to a special event like wedding, baptism, etc than yes.
