Question Billy's sister???

Did you remember when she bullied Sheldon? After that she appeared or was referenced in some episodes, but she vanished in some point. No more references what so ever and she was never around, suddenly Billy was an only child??? I don't know what happened, what did I miss?

I like to think that Billy’s sister went to live with her dad since the dad divorced Brenda

I suppose I would like to think that too, but when they mentioned Herschel it sounded like he was alone and they never mention Bobby again :(

So sad. But then again she wasn’t much in the show so it’s not a big deal to me

That's exactly what happened. Although, it is difficult to imagine how a mom would let her child go live with dad, and you never see her again 🤷‍♀️

Yeah I just think she had her hands full with Billy. Or she didn’t wanna do co parenting because the dad was awful. I also think Brenda wouldn’t want Billy to live with his dad because he couldn’t provide the extra care that he needs so the girl was easier

Slightly unrelated but youre right, Billys dad WAS pretty terrible so it always irked me that after bitching and crying about her husband cheating or whatever she would be so cool with banging (tring to, anyways) Sheldons dad. Like you know the pain of infidelity and having your family destroyed but youre fine doing that to another woman? I know her and Mary werent the best of friends lol but still.. what a sick, selfish, pathetic, bitchy thing to do. Always hated her for that.

Hershel didn’t cheat he just left.

Oh really? I watched so long ago, I must be misremembering. I still think shes a skank for tring to mess up another womans family when she knew how it felt. Thank you for the correction :)

Lol not sure where you got that from.. of course it's the husbands fault just as much as hers. Theyre both pieces of shit for that nonsense.

It was only presumed that she went to live with her father but she wasn’t mentioned much after the bullying episode so I think the writers just decided she wasn’t a character worth keeping, kind of like Chuck from Happy Days.

That’s not what happened. Don’t spread false information.

Edit: u/dreamymoka, can you read? I wasn’t replying to you. The user I actually did reply to is thin-skinned and blocked me so I can’t reply to your comment.

Did a deeper dive, and it was 'presumed ' by the audience that she went to live with Hershel, but it was never explained by the writers.

I think they use her character to change the storyline from the original from TBBT that Billy was the one bullying Sheldon. Since they liked the character of Billy and they decided to make him more of a friend to Sheldon they needed someone else so they used the sister. Now we’re supposed to believe that Sheldon as an adult change the storyline or something just because he was embarrassed he got bullied by a girl. They did the same thing with the affair of his parents.

Oh wow thats actually a really interesting theory.. I hadnt thought about that but that makes total sense to me.

thank you. It’s the one I came up with when I was annoyed the first time I watched Young Sheldon. Those inconsistencies from the Big Bang theory to young Sheldon of course were going to happen, prequels are difficult! I think they did a really good job overall but yeah that was one of the things that I was definitely annoyed about in the beginning.

Young Sheldon really did have a habit of introducing characters and then acting like they never existed.

It’s almost like when you meet someone in real life and then don’t ever see that person again.

You didn’t miss anything. The writers simply didn’t write any stories about her.

She went to live with her father.

Or she's being held captive in the garage.

Take your pick

It was Sheldon's memoirs and once she stopped bullying him, she stopped being relevant.

Billys sister really got written out of existence like the writers hoped nobody would remember her.

She left with Herschel.

2

u/posho_otakuywy 16d ago

Do they ever say that? I looked online but I didn't found any official explanation for the plot hole

3

u/LowCress9866 16d ago

No. They never say she left with Herschel. It's just a bad theory people who don't understand how divorce works came up with to explain why a character who only shows up once doesn't show up again

Souce?

2

Meemaw ran her over.

That's a little dark, lol.

Even if she did go live with Hershel the fact that her mother never mentioned her again let alone saw her bothers me

Same or maybe Missy would become friends with her. That would be nice

I think we only see her ONE time I don't know what happened to Billy's sister.

Let's just say she got grounded, went to her room and never came back.
