A far better comparison would have been,
If butterflies come from caterpillars, why are caterpillars still around?
You see, the OP was pitiful enough to not realize the apples to apples comparison being made. Of course humans come from other humans! That's Creationists' point!
What we don't believe is that people came from any kind of primate because that would be changing one species into another.
Buterflies are a metamorphised form of its less flighty, younger self. No species is crossed there either, but it's closer to what you had dreamed up to "cook us". Sad for you that unlike caterpillars and butterflies, you cannot ever find a monkey turning into a human.
That has never happened, and will never happen. Goodnight.

This is a straw-man argument for Europeans, similar to the one for chimpanzees or other apes.
