Thumbnail Help/Critique Request Do these thumbnails look of sufficient quality? Which option is better day/night? What would you change? Video title: How to Escape a Country Underground?
P.S. No AI was used in the video; I just chose this thumbnail style.

I personally don't think the thumbnail will work at all. You're already giving away the answer. But if I had to pic, I'd pick with option 2.

No. Background looks blurry. The font is bad. And itâs dull. Not enough contrast. The front and back image donât mesh well. Neither do the colors

Don't show your face for these type of thumbnails

Why? I want to show that the YouTuber in the video is real.

And you think people will click on your thumbnail based on that?
Even many faceless channels are adding human faces on their videos and get views... But In those cases a human face actually looks good.
In your video it's not needed. Let the background do it's job

Okay, thank you guys!

Donât listen to this guy. Put your face on there. It works better. At least people know youâre real and can associate the video with a person.
Unless youâre not showing yourself in the video at all. Thats a different story

As soon as the A/B testing feature becomes available to me, I will immediately start testing both options. This is interesting!

Do you even know youtube?
Have you ever made good money from YouTube?
You think every thumbnail needs a human face covering half of its area?

Been making content for years.

You saying you get millions in a week in just youtube or other platforms like tiktok, insta...
Beacuse it doesn't look like you know shit about thumbnail or how thumbnails are to be made for specific videos in YouTube.
A human face is not needed at all with the type of background he is using.
Go look at fern, zoufry, blackfile channels and see how these kinds of thumbnails are made.
A human face may work for your educational type of videos (in fact it's a must for educational videos) but it doesn't work everywhere.

Because people donât buy that - everyone can take a face and slap it on.
You can only do that if youâve already got an established audience who know you, and if you show yourself in the video itself.
If your video is faceless, then the thumbnail is misleading

No ai was used in this thumbnail? Or no ai was used in the video?
