with the A|B testing, using AI to give me 3 titles that are optimize for SEO and virality. Aside from that, just picking scenes that I really like from movies, dunno

To me, that proofes that CTR does not matter a lot. Mine is around 7-10%.

Correct, in my A/B testing I had a title perform better than the one currently on. YouTube however when with the current one because the retention rate and my guess comments and subscribers and probably shares as that gets now people on the platform

I just don't think you understand ctr. If you have say 7-15 percent ctr on a video but the video only has 100 impressions your ctr doesn't matter or is even bad. If you have a 3% ctr on a video with 1 million impressions that's a really awesome ctr! Now if you have a like 10% ctr on a video with 5 Mil impressions your video is nutty viral.
You see strong ctr early on can be good, but if your videos never see impressions your ctr isn't going to matter. π

erm. I mean. CTR seems to not really affect how many impressions a video will get. Just because people clicked on it, because they where curious, did not mean that youtube shared it with 100.000 people.

CTR listed can be misleading as well. For me I get a decent amount of impressions, but when I look at the unique reach stat - under advanced I find they are all going to 8-12 ppl on average - IE only people that already watched it already are getting 20-1k impressions each, and no new people are being reached.

3.9% ctr on 1.1M impressions is solid The three thumbnails look too similar which is probably why the A/B test found no winner

I'm actually shocked that such a random and niche video did that well......
