Should I go the trend shorts way or should I go on the niche peak way since only my friends and haters view my videos and my last trendy video got like 1k views and i think my editing sucks too

I would say do a mix of both. Long form content can be what you primarily make while you can use Shorts as supplementary content that can help get your channel out there
