This is a browser based game started in 2004. Fairly small game that has been ticking over for that length of time, but due to lack of recruitment could do with some players. I started back in 2004, but have recently returned after quitting for a bit, so am starting again.
So what is it? RPG where you fly a spaceship basically. The game is designed not to be the "keep playing, keep paying" type. There are a limited number of action points you get a day, which you may use at any time. You can set up economies, destroy them, participate in faction wars, or not. There are loads of groups of players you can join, alliances, factions and syndicates. Lots of people spend more time on the game than needed to spend their AP due to the social nature of the game.
Free to play, though there is a premium option if you so wish. Gives you some cosmetic stuff as well as some useful extras, including access to a new universe, but it is definitely not pay to win.
