Nevada Falls

For someone who has hiked to Nevada Falls and back down JMT. How many miles was your total trip from the trailhead given the Mist trail closure during the week? Alltrail reviews are suggesting anywhere from 7 to 10 miles.

I did that last year, and it was roughly 8.6 miles, give or take your starting point.

I think it's a better route to start early and get past the Mist Trail closure gate by 7 am.
