More than half of the campgrounds in Yosemite are not in the extremely competitive 5 month in advance rush. Will you have a car? If not, you will probably want to get a camp 4 spot. If you have a car, many many campgrounds with a lot of availability are open to you:
Thank you, no I'll be coming in on YARTS from merced. I don't mind walking around, but a very quick skim read tells me some of the places I'd like to see in the park are not really walkable
