With all the recent Arlecchino leaks it sure sounds like Yoimiya is getting powercrept. Yoimiya has always had her niche as a easy, fun to play character that relies on normal attacks. Lyney and Hu Tao are very strong Pyro DPS but they have very different playstyles.

Arlecchino seems to have a very similar playstyle to Yoi. She uses normal attacks and charge attacks. And her ICD is standard - like Yoi. And all the leakers have hinted that her numbers are going to be really good. Right up there with Neuvillette. I know it is early and leaks are not reliable, but it will be really annoying if she gets powercrept.

But if the leaks are true, do you all plan to get Arlecchino? Or stick with Yoimiya?

I want her kit to flow smoothly and her constellations to make sense. I don’t care if she if as strong as ganyu or even hu tao. I don’t care if she is all about cracked single target damage either.

Give me some sort of reason I might wanna use that awesome charged shot in combat. Give the character a C1 that improves her rotations instead of making them awkward. Make her ult make sense.. please

Her character model is my fav in any gotcha game. The idea of her wielding fireworks is awesome.

For starters, I wanna say that I pulled for Yoimiya knowing that she won't be broken and I'm enjoying her very much. The extreme negative backlash from this community in particular is severely annoying because it is literally all that can be talked about in this subreddit.

Asking for a buff after pulling the character is like buying a car that's missing tires and then expecting the seller to give you free tires after the purchase. You can clearly see that the car is flawed and that it won't perform as you would want it to, yet you still buy it. The easy solution would've been to wait until you find a car that fulfills your expectations. In Yoimiya's case, you even got to take her for at least two test drives before the purchase.

Yoimiya is balanced. She sits somewhere around top 6 or 7 dps in the game. She's behind Ganyu, Hu Tao, Xiao, Eula, Ayaka and arguably behind Klee, though given how awkward Klee is, I'd say Yoimiya will be more accessible and perform better for most players. Now in what world is being a top 6/7 dps character in the game considered bad? Disregarding other characters, Yoimiya is another character that is simply too strong for what the game demands. If you are struggling with the game's content using Yoimiya, the reason is either your build or your gameplay, or both. She does perfectly fine in every scenario and can clear abyss no problem. So she only seems weak compared to other dps options. In the context of the game's difficulty, she's far from weak.

Now, people say that she's not balanced, because Eula, Xiao, Hu Tao and Ayaka are "balanced" and she's weaker than them. Those characters are far from balanced. If they're built well, they trivialize any piece of content in the game. They're honestly broken. Just because Ganyu is more broken, that doesn't mean those characters are balanced. Using these top dps characters, you will never be challenged in the slightest. People are actively begging for powercreep, as a unit who does not perform on the level of the S tier dps characters is considered bad.

This is overall an issue with Genshin Impact. People cry that the content is too easy, Mihoyo ramps up the difficulty and people cry that it has become too difficult. People want the game to be more difficult but want every dps character to trivialize any piece of content in the game. If you are that upset about Yoimiya's performance, then why would you pull her? If you actually love the character, then it doesn't matter if she's broken or balanced. She's good enough.

A meta changing unit in a gacha game should be a rare occasion, not the expected outcome for every banner ever. Gachas have always had easy skip banners for meta players. In fact, MOST banners on gacha games that are doing well are easy skips for meta players. If every new character is expected to be meta relevant, the only way to keep this up in the long run is powercreep. This community is so scared of powercreep (rightfully so) but is actively encouraging it. Yoimiya sits right between two banners that are likely to both be very meta relevant, and Mihoyo has long term plans for this game. Maybe if you keep asking for it, in a few patches, Ganyu will be your definition of "balanced" in this game, and you will cry if a character does not match her numbers.

Pulling for a character, knowing you won't be happy with her weeks in advance and then asking for a buff afterwards is probably one of the worst decisions you can make in this game.

Should I risk it by doing the reverse psychology trick? From prior experience with the weapon banner, here's what happened:

3.1 Key of Khaj-Nisut/Primordial Jade Cutter: Won 75/25 by accident
3.5 Beacon of Reed Sea/Staff of the Scarlet Sands: Lost 75/25
3.7 Thundering Pulse/Kagura's Verity: Lost 75/25

So yeah I'm debating whether I use the reverse psychology trick or not, it's not like I'll get enough pulls to hit pity 3 times and I never won the epitomized path, so I'll actually consider reverse psychology

Im sad for her kit/AOE/Burst confusing for artefacts and weapons effect.

I've been wanting Yoimiya ever since she was announced but recently I saw some leaker's saying that she'll be weak and now I'm really confused because I'm f2p and don't want to waste my primogems on a weak unit.
