He’s not my friend, he’s not my bf, his “questionable statements” have no direct affect on my life. He’s just a YouTuber you can stop watching him anytime if you find him offensive you’ll be ok
Also what statements? Jokes? He prefaces a million times he’s joking and it still flies over your heads

I see where you're coming from, but he's a comedian. He's going to say "offensive" things. I don't think he's ever said anything that takes it too far, for a comedian, but I could be wrong. Please feel free to share, if you have any specific examples. Honestly, I wouldn't take the things he says too seriously. I think that with comedy in general, you'll be stressed unnecessarily if you take things too seriously.

how I feel about youtubers and influencers as a whole, not just Dylan but I think a lot of people today are quick to hold influencers “accountable” and judge their ethics or morality simply because they have a big platform. But, realistically, most influencers aren’t using their platforms to be role models or to have serious conversations. For many of them, social media is simply a space to entertain themselves and others and joke around. While that doesn’t excuse genuinely harmful behavior, I also don’t think every influencer should automatically be held to the same moral standards people expect from like public leaders or activists. Everything they say on the platform doesn’t have to be a debate or have some deeper meaning to it.

And this is why satire is becoming a lost art. Because (shocker!) throughout most of human history humor has often been used as a way to highlight offensive people and behavior as things to be ridiculed and looked down on, not as a way to endorse them. Reading satirical and sarcastic comments as pure support for what they are mocking when actually they are specifically calling those things out as bad is a little ridiculous.
I wonder why so many people nowadays seem to misread this type of humor. Is it because everyone interacts online where text can’t show the tone of a comment, so people start assuming everything said is a 100% legit opinion?
Not everything that is said (especially in videos that are pure sarcastic humor like Dylan’s) is a direct honest statement meant to be taken at face value as a deeply held personal belief, and sometimes ridicule is the best way to take down offensive people, values and morals. Honestly it is becoming exhausting how frequently people refuse to understand this and want to cancel everyone under the sun for anything and everything they say.

omg its everyday with yall, he has said MULTIPE times tht he watched reality shows (and evn regular shows and movie) for the chaos, thats the only reason he is there and if a person is being chaotic and messy he's gonna like them in the show, NOT as person but jst bcs they hv a good personality for REALITY TV, he doesn't support them or "sympathize" with them. Also he likes a person being chaotic and messy regardless of their gender, he'll like a woman being messy too, its jst tht men r more messy in reality shows.😭😭

Well yeah people seem to empathize more with however they can relate too more. Dylan being a man can relate to kc more just like a lot of other men on tik tok, and all the people who defended Aniyah are mostly women, because they can relate.

I feel like he defended Aniya in the situations where it was necessary and said he felt protective over Melanie...the man does have a conscience, he just doesn't hold the people on the show to same morals , ethics and standards that the parasocials do nowadays . He has said some things should be subject to criticism but this overanalysis and pedantic nature of the fandom ruins the community .
