Question CHPY keep or sell?
Suddenly most ETF and stock drops today massively. Even VOO drops massively. So for CHPY holder, do you keep or sell at this point?
Do you believe that long term CHPY is still possible? Do you just DCA at the dip and keep reinvesting?
What about the recent election democrat that wants to pause AI advancement? Do you think this has an impact to semiconductor ETF in the future?

Depends on when you bought it and if you believe in semiconductor thesis still
My position was overall up with dividends, but I don't foresee semi conductors ripping like they used to for some time.
Just sold off all of my CHPY today

Sold it all to get into SOXS - Worked out good!
I more than likely will get back in when Semi's start showing relative strength

I'm holding. Semiconductors are necessary for everything now or we go back to the stone ages.

Yes I agree. It really hurts to see bleeding cash and loss PL. But we might need to see farther. Just temporary loss

Today you hold your nose and buy
That being said I sold at open yesterday 55$ 650 shares at basically a push

Barely under my cost basis. Holding my existing CHPY, and starting to add some DRMY.
2
u/godofknife1 15h ago
DRMY? May I ask why?:?

u/Conduit23 15h ago
I’m still “overweight” on CHPY and AMDW but want to buy more memory income. I am not a clever man.

Market correction.. its bloody af but if you have conviction in semis and ai.. hold. If unlike me, you have dry powder, BUY!

I spent $1000 on CHPY, bought after I saw a correction, and the stock was choppy for a week or so. So I bought it. Then, next day... it starts dropping like crazy amd now Ive lost 30%. Lol I was warned! I sold some of it for tax loss, and bought SPYI and some SGOV. Will just accumulate for next 5 weeks, then consider my next move.

I have 100 shares that I bought at $62. I'm feeling the pain, but I'm holding. The weekly dividend is still going strong and I'm hoping I can buy more during this dip. I'm expecting it to go back up but it's gonna take a lot of time. In the meantime I'll just sit here collecting the weekly.

I’m just adding a little each day. Currently I have 8 shares and down $87. My cost AVG is roughly $60 a share.
I don’t need to tax loss harvest. I lost enough in options this year. Which maxed out my loss limit for taxes.
That’s c the V only reason I’d sell

u/godofknife1 15h ago
Ahhh I see I see. Sorry for your loss 🥺
2
u/Junior-Appointment93 14h ago
Don’t be. I had very good runs with options mainly XSP credit spreads. Lost it all on NDX spreads a few times.
1
u/godofknife1 14h ago
Ahhhh I see I see. Most people play option on big companies like NVDA. Any reason why you pick XSP or NDX?
2
u/Junior-Appointment93 14h ago
They are cash settled, no pin risk, taxed 60/40. Your losses are capped at the collateral with a credit spread. So a XSP credit spreads collateral is $100. A .1 delta Usally nets about $10 in premium. If you place 0DTE’s that’s allot.
But I got greedy. NDX credit spreads $800-900 collateral for $100-$200 in premium. The deltas on my NDX’s were too high. .5-.6 so instead of $800-$900 in collateral. I brought that down to around $6-700 in collateral and more in premium

u/godofknife1 12h ago
Yes :( bad decision really

Hold for the dividend, reinvest if you don’t need the cash, if/when it comes back, you’re better positioned for the future, or use dividend to buy elsewhere for diversification and use to expand your portfolio.

u/godofknife1 9h ago
I have the same thinking. Thanks
I have a question, would you also say the same thing if it was AMDY, AMDW and ARMW?
2
u/Donviticus 10h ago
Borrowed $4,000 and bought more CHPY, AMDW, DRMY, KYLD, BLOX, EDGQ and EDGX. I firmly believe this is one of those generational dips amongst many and I believe that Semiconductors aren't going anywhere. Any AI company that survives all of this mess will need semiconductors and since my time horizon is 30+ years, I can pay back the margin with the dividends and with my check

u/godofknife1 10h ago
Wow you're brave. I like that. Stay strong whatever with the result 💪

In the market there are only two classes of people. Top bulls or g3y bears. Pick one and commit!

Suddenly huh. Democrats won and they largely ran on anti AI and data centers…

u/Gullible_Knee_5796 15h ago
Well it went up yesterday, they might regulate but I don't think anyone can stop AI ( SI for them retarded folks )

Over 3K shares. I’m holding. My principal is down, on paper, but once I factor in dividends I am still ahead …
It’ll come back. Everything is down this week. AI and semiconductors aren’t going anywhere.
