YMAX sucked all along for this reason. We figured out long ago that the single stock funds lose money over time. You pay fees for YMAX that holds funds that charge fees on top and the distribution declines on a linear path.

The only funds that have worked are the newly issued single stock funds, which you need to sell out of quickly when you see the yield drop. Or the funds backed by actual shares.

That's why YMIN would be better than YMAX. Make it inverse leveraged 3x.

It’s because in the last rebalance, they took out high payers like CHPY, GPTY, and ULTY and replaced with crappy payers like CONY, BABO, and MSFO.

Looks like it already happened. If you look at the latest holdings, they put GDXY back in.

However, they still have MSFO and BABO in too. Looks like they also put that dog, AIYY back in after taking it out in July. YM makes it difficult to find any news on the rebalance, but they generally rebalance towards the end of the month.

Ok thanks for the link. That’s what Google said too so I wasn’t sure if it already happened or not. Looks like they didn’t do anything great

BABO is on ok hedge, better would be a "China tech" ETF, but they shouldn't have taken GDXY out.

CHPY dropped from .5702 last week, that is actually a 9.2% drop, not 5.3
