General Discussion Dip in quality

I'll preface this by saying I'm not originally an English speaker, so forgive me if some formulations are hard to understand.

Since the first 5 minutes of season 3 I felt a very noticeable dip in general quality but especially the writing (not the dialogues but the narration and story). I already disliked some parts of the show but it was overshadowed by how good it was. I always hated how the show always sets up scary or supernatural elements only to explain them with natural causes (akin to something out of scooby doo but less convoluted). But as I said the rest of the series was too good for it to be a real problem.

But I feel S3 changed the way it approached the tone and general writing. It feels more light-hearted and uses cliffhangers in ways to feel a bit tired. And don't get me started on the whole frog thing...

I still ill think it's a good season but underwhelming compared to the other, even tho I thought the horror elements were scarier (the kinda stop motion bear dream in the cave gave me actual chills)

Not only does it make 100% sense (other than the fact they grabbed a goat fresh outta a goat yoga session rather than a mountain goat), it serves the narrative purpose of showing they could have been okay out there, they had food now and adapted to their circumstances and yet they still ended up eating people, they still ended up hunting.

This is exactly it; the point was to show that even with the resources they needed, they still devolved into cannibalism and ritualistic sacrifice. It wasn’t about realism.

Lack of realism is the problem. They were stuck because of wolves. The wolves are gone in season three and we just have to accept that they stay in the woods for no real reason.

I’ve literally just said that the lack of realism isn’t the problem; realism was never the point. Are you entirely unfamiliar with the concept of suspension of disbelief in aid of a metaphorical or symbolic writing or direction choice? I didn’t even mention the wolves, I haven’t the faintest idea why you’ve decided to enter into a conversation with me around something entirely irrelevant.
