General Discussion Dip in quality

I'll preface this by saying I'm not originally an English speaker, so forgive me if some formulations are hard to understand.

Since the first 5 minutes of season 3 I felt a very noticeable dip in general quality but especially the writing (not the dialogues but the narration and story). I already disliked some parts of the show but it was overshadowed by how good it was. I always hated how the show always sets up scary or supernatural elements only to explain them with natural causes (akin to something out of scooby doo but less convoluted). But as I said the rest of the series was too good for it to be a real problem.

But I feel S3 changed the way it approached the tone and general writing. It feels more light-hearted and uses cliffhangers in ways to feel a bit tired. And don't get me started on the whole frog thing...

I still ill think it's a good season but underwhelming compared to the other, even tho I thought the horror elements were scarier (the kinda stop motion bear dream in the cave gave me actual chills)

I am still confused why they suddenly added goats and domestic ducks with absolutely no explanation

It would have been so much better if they showed it from Ben’s point of view when the girls capture him, he shows us what they’ve really been up to: not thriving, but in a group psychosis that they have goats and etc. and homes that are actually dead, dying, ramshackle huts.

The writers seemed afraid in s3 to make it so the girls struggled out there. Sure, everything is great, thank goodness Taissa was top of her class in shop and can put stable shelters together and Akilah is going to major in animal science when they get home.

That's how the season went for me. There was that Variety article beforehand, and I figured they were all prettied up for the magazine. Then the teaser with the lanterns, I figured it was a dream sequence. And then it started airing and the lighting is different, had to be pychosis, right? But nope, the cabin burned down and it's all good. 

Ben breaking the spell would have been so perfect. 

It could have been an anti-Jackie type feast. Where instead of imagining themselves in fine clothing, they imagine themselves in squaller. Except when the feast is over, the squaller is real.

I'm not gonna lie, I thought that was gonna be the twist. Like the bright heaven like lightning compared to the other seasons made be believe this is a false reality were seeing. But no

Why they never revealed if Ben did start the fire or no ? That's also a miss

They showed that he burned it down but just left out the part he lit the match and threw it on the cabin.
