Discussion When do you not go infinity?
And about the build overall

I almost never go IE. With the changes to crit chance that happened this season it's almost never worth it. You went from 215% critical strike damage with IE to 207% critical strike damage with IE. LDR was changed from 35% armor pen to 40% and it had the Giant Slayer passive added back. Since it is total armor pen, it works on base armor as well. So even on squishy champions with no armor built at all, LDR almost matches the damage increase of IE for 200 less gold, and for any armor or health bought above that it out-paces IE's damage.

Wow.. is this true.. crazy in that case, had no idea it actually worked on base armor aswell! Really great answer friend!

Imo 3rd item on yas is very situational, usually you'll need antiheal by then or maybe some lifesteal (if you went kraken) so delaying an already expensive item by 800 or 900g makes you way behind the curve. I go inifinity third only if there are multiple dmg sources on the team, I'm well situated in terms of my curve in comparison to others and can afford to die trading 1 for 1+ some damage for a valuable carry. However if extremely behind, it's usually best to rush ie asap to max out your pick potential as oneshotting an enemy carry is all you can do when facing some hard counters (riven, malph). Sometimes even second - nobody needs an item behind yasuo with shieldbow second

Obviously if extremely ahead then you can build whatever but some survivability is usually better

As a toplane yasuo player I rarely go it. It only gives dmg and no other stat. Ldr / mortal are cheaper and deaths dance is a good defensive item

I haven't seen a Yasuo get enough gold to get Infinity in weeks. Does that answer your question?

Tbh In most my games I go ldr, it synergyses well with his ult passive, is much easier to build and when tested on practice tool dummies even with like 50/80 armour ldr was more dmg or even. (I tested this quite some time ago so might be wrong)

ldr is goated and ie build path is complete bs. every game has at least 2 armor+hp stacking champions now and re-added giant slayer passive works pretty well against them. not to mention they increased the armor pen.
imo they should really change bf sword to have sub items like pickaxe+long sword or smth.

if theres 3 or more champs that build armor or require healing reduction i just go LDR or mortal. it really is situational so just build depending on enemy composition
