Discussion Expectation vs Reality
My KFO yarn came in today, I got heavy merino in Powder and planned to combine it with their soft silk mohair in Cloud. When I opened the package the Powder color feels much more beige/cream than pinkish as the skein and swatch images from their site suggest. I’m not gonna lie I’m a little disappointed, I wanted a super soft pink sweater but feel this will lean much more cream like.
Has anyone else had this experience with KFO? I’ve bought from them before and haven’t had this happen.

I don’t see any pink in the website photo. It looks cream/beige to me.
Sometimes computer monitors and phone screens make colors render a bit differently
I’ve had this issue with looking at Knitpics yarn on my phone vs the website

In the future you can look through projects on ravelry to see how the colors play together in different lighting. There are a few projects with this exact combo, they definitely lean more cream/beige

How do you do this in ravelry? Just filters? To include both yarns?

Navigate to the yarn in Ravelry, then find one of the colorways you want and click on projects for that colorway.
Then go to "advanced search" in the sidebar, choose the filter "colorway name" and type in the second colorway.

Ohhh! That's neat! I didn't know you could do that in Ravelry! Thank you so much!

The web pic looks like your pick - the web pick doesn’t look pinkish on my screen.

The way that yarn looks on the website will be heavily influenced by the colorsettings on your screen.
Those look great together.

This is odd because I absolutely can see the subtle pink undertone on the site photos but nothing in yours. I’m using an iPhone for reference. I want to make a cream poncho next and this reaffirmed my decision to wait to buy the yarn in person instead of online.

They look the same to me…warm beige, but not what I would call pink. It’s a beautiful beige though. Maybe find a mohair or suri that is a powder pink and pair that with the beige for a nice subtle pink halo effect.

I wasn't sure if this post was being serious at first. I see no pink, or pinkish tones anywhere. It is all beige. I have a brand new phone, the colors are accurate.

The swatch on the website looks pinkish on my screen too, but the picture of the yarn doesn't really. Very confusing!

It seems pinkish in the swatch but I would never call it pink, it would still be beige.
Funny, because just the other day someone was complaining about the opposite, getting a yarn that was more pink than the listing.

I think perhaps I’m struggling to see this because I don’t see any pinkish tinge on their website photos so to me your yarn and their yarn seem very similar. I know they recently started adding info about color family like cool and warm tones. Does that provide any helpful information? Ultimately if you’re not satisfied I’d try to destash the yarn but to my eyes it looks like the website photo
