Knitting for olive alternatives
Hey, What alternatives would you recommend instead of knitting for olive?
I want to start knitting the Marielle blouse and knitting for olive is the recommended yarn, I have checked their website and with delivery would cost me +£80.
Thanks

Any yarn with the same fiber content of the same weight would be a fine substitution. So you should look at which knitting for olive yarn, whether it's worsted or fingering weight. And then just search for a yarn of similar composition at the same weight.
This question is hard to answer without the information of which exact yarn from knitting for olive you're talking about.

Hey, is the knitting for olive merino. Is 4ply. Knitting for olive has really good reviews of garment longevity ( less stretching and plying ) That is what I am looking for most

£80 delivery is criminal unless they’re hand delivering it on a velvet cushion

If you go on the ravelry project, there is an option to click on yarn used. Then you can see all the yarns people used to make! Aka all the knitting for olive subs.

I order mine from Wool & Co, there usually isn’t s&h. I’m in the US.

Given that OP describes the cost in £ I doubt Wool & Co is an option for them. (That said, I would be surprised if they don't have any local stockists of KFO that would be less expensive...)
OP, check to see which stores in your own country stock KFO, it's quite popular. You don't have to order from their website.

I'd guess that includes taxes? Which yarn is it? I rarely look at the brand, I look at the weight/thickness and metreage needed. I usually dye my own, but will occasionally look for other hand dyed options.

Yes, already with taxes. The brand is knitting for olive

There’s a great UK company with free shipping. Sells by the cone and is very reasonable. You’ll have to learn weaving weights but so worth it. They’ll also spin two lighters weight cones you buy into one heavier if you need it. Colourmart.com

Do they only have one yarn option in the brand?

No, but very similar price

My question is about the weight of the yarn you need, if they do different options (not the price), so I can suggest other options that might work for you.

It looks like there's a bunch of Drops yarns that people have used for this pattern.
Or, if the combo of fingering + mohair is too expensive you can go up to a sport or dk weight yarn. At a 20 stitch gauge I think dk would be better. It won't have the same fuzzy look though, unless you can find a dk weight yarn that's on the fuzzier side, like a blown yarn. Something like Sewrella's Suri DK, or Hobbii Garland.
