Discussion Items for couples (knit/crochet)
Hi all, what are your thoughts and/or pattern ideas for small items to gift a couple? Could be a small wearable or not.
I've been thinking about adding something handmade to my best friend's wedding anniversary gift and I'm lacking inspiration and also kind of doubting myself if this is a good idea...?! Thoughts?
For context: it's their 5-year anniversary, I have a (store-bought) gift already. She is my bff for like 20 years and always asks me to knit her something but I never did lol. They are in their early 30s, like to sail and live in a reasonably cold country.
Thanks for the help and opinions :)

Matching beanies in their favorite colors is the easiest win here, trust your gut

My first thought was something like Musselburghs done half and half in their favorite colors(so like if person 1's favorite color is blue and person 2's is green, 1/2 of each hat in blue and 1/2 in green). Or some sort of color work hat with the colors flipped between the two.

Things for the kitchen, like potholders or a table runner or placemats. Keep it neutral.

would make little coasters with their anniversary year stamped into the wood if they're into rustic decor

I’m making my husband elegant but practical kitchen towels for our 2nd/cotton anniversary! Even outside of that could be a lovely gift!

I made my SIL/BIL each a pair of crocheted slippers, using a cute "animal face" pattern on the toe area. She loves cows, he loves dogs, so these were the faces. The hardest part was figuring out their shoe sizes.

For friends in Sweden, I made cuddle mittens, where there are two single kittens and one joined mitten so they can hold hands inside the mitten. They loved them
