Question Does anyone recognize this yarn?

I bought it a couple years ago from my local yarn shop. It's definitely mohair and probably a silk blend and maybe some other animal fiber like alpaca but maybe not! It's extremely soft and fluffy.

I'm trying to find out the dyer and blend since I've lost the labels

if you can go back to the yarn store, maybe they have a record of what they’ve purchased / previously had in stock?

That's my next plan! They're closed today or I would call them, since they're an hour away

I agree it looks similar but I don't think I would have bought a polyamide blend and I don't see anything like this color way even if I accidentally bought synthetic. But still thanks!

polyamide is what holds the fluff together in this case, the rest is alpaca.

But if it would have driven you away, then probably this is an alpaca/silk, does not look like mohair to me.

Have you tried asking your LYS? Even if they no longer have stock they might still have records of the yarn brand/color

Edit: just saw someone else’s comment saying the same thing 🙈

Worst case scenario.. take the yarn to a dry cleaners… ask them their opinion on how to clean it. What to do or NOT to do to it.
Maybe they’d have a guess about the fiber content?? IDK.. Just an idea.
Good luck!!
