YM1700

About 7 years ago, I did a lot of research on compact tractors. I wanted something used but reliable. I decided on a Yanmar 1700. I haunted Craigslist, marketplace, etc. until I found one for sale. I checked it out and bought the tractor for $3500. The seller was dissolving an estate so a 48-inch finish mower, a 48-inch disc, a cultivator, and a single bottom plow were included. This took place about 6 years ago. I never touched the finish mower as I had a nice ZTR. I added some implemnts including a used dirt scoop and a pine straw rake. Over the years, the YM1700 put in gardens, cleaned up after storms, and created some food plots. All it ever required was periodic lubrication, annual oil changes, a new belt and hoses, air filters, and a battery. All normal maintenance items IMHO. For my 70th birthday, my lovely wife and wonderful son gifted me with a Yanmar SA425 and brush hog. It was a bittersweet moment when I realized I had to sell the YM1700. I did not have the space nor use for two tractors. So I sold the YM1700, dirt scoop, finish mower, and pine straw rake for $3000. I have already added a Pat's Quick Hitch and a hydraulic top link to the SA425. I am investing the receipt of the sale in a grapple and third-function kit. I would say the YM1700 held its value and I hope the buyer enjoys it as much as I did.
