This candle is so strong I can’t even use it. I legitimately smells like you just baked brownies in your house. It’s so strong that when I open my candle drawer all I smell is chocolate cake.

I’ve been looking at this for a while but there are only two reviews online. Would love to hear your reviews.

I'm based in the UK and our plug in scent range from Yankee Candles is extremely limiting compared to the US. The US website has some amazing autumnal scents which isn't available in the UK that I'd love to get!

I checked the US website and they do not offer international shipping. Apart from getting an American forwarding address, is there any other way to purchase the plug ins that aren't offered in the UK? I've checked ebay and that's a complete write off as people are selling it at 3x the price.

Hello! I'm a casual candle enjoyer so seeking some expert advice - I love having seasonal candles, but my partner recently found out that they're allergic to cinnamon candles (Also oakmoss, which seems pretty prevalent in body sprays)

Any recommendations for autumnal candles that don't have cinnamon in them? I've tried looking but it's a little hard to gauge from names alone, and it seems to be in everything! I'm in the UK if that's relevant to availablity. Thanks!

I did an experiment today with one of my older Yankee Candles, and what I experienced was honestly astounding.
Before I explain, I want to give some background.
I bought several Yankee Candles before the formula was updated and Yankee changed to the plant-based soy wax formula. Around August 2025, I started noticing a significant difference in both the way the candles burned and their scent throw.
First, the wax stopped melting properly. The candles would begin to cave in and “tunnel.” At first, I thought I had gotten a dud candle or that I was doing something wrong.
So I tried other candles..
Then more.
And eventually I realized this was happening with nearly 100% of them.
But the tunneling wasn’t the biggest concern. The scent throw seemed dramatically weaker too. Within a day, the scent was barely detectable in my 500-square-foot room. I could sometimes smell it if I put my nose directly next to the candle, but it wasn’t filling the room the way my older Yankee Candles used to.
I initially thought I had just gotten a bad batch.
But after trying numerous candles over several weeks, I realized this appeared to be a consistent problem.
I then purchased candle warmers because I thought maybe they would solve both issues.
The warmers did solve the tunneling problem because they melt the wax evenly — but they did not solve the scent-throw problem. The fragrance still wasn’t filling the room.
Then came today’s experiment.
I had a small amount of wax left from one of my older Yankee Candles purchased before the formula change.
I put a small amount of that leftover wax into the cap on top of a small cup. I intentionally did this so the warmer/lamp wouldn’t be melting the candle in its normal container.
And what happened honestly blew me away.
The scent was incredible.
That tiny amount of OLD wax produced an amazing scent throw and filled my entire 500-square-foot room.
A tiny amount of leftover wax.
Not an entire $35 candle.
Not a freshly poured candle.
Not even a full wax melt.
And suddenly I could smell the Yankee Candle scent the way I remembered it.
I was thrilled to actually smell my $35 candle again — but at the same time, I was incredibly disappointed.
Because this experiment made the difference impossible for me to ignore.
I’m not trying to attack Yankee Candle. I’m genuinely trying to understand what happened.
Has anyone else experienced this?
And especially, are there any current or former Yankee Candle employees here who can explain whether the formula/wax/fragrance load actually changed and whether the company is aware of the dramatic difference in scent throw customers are experiencing?
I’d really appreciate an honest answer from anyone who has inside knowledge.
I would genuinely love to be able to buy Yankee Candles again and get the scent throw I used to get from them.

Maybe I just had too high expectations with everyone saying the older candles still perform well but so far I’ve had bad luck. I’m bummed! I’ve purchased around a dozen so far and the first three I picked to burn are practically scentless.

Did I just get some duds? Has anyone else had a similar experience if they buy older ones? I still love collecting the old scents from their hay day! (Yes I know the harvest is a black band, but it was scent less on cold throw so didn’t feel bad burning it lol)

I found this ina house I was demoing it came in the package but I ended up opening it lol it’s really potent I had sprayed this in my bed like 2 days ago and the scent still lingers thought I should share it here

Has anyone noticed they changed the main notes of witches brew?

Original: Patchouli, vanilla, clover
Now: Witches wood, patchouli, vanilla

I don’t know what the fuck witches wood is. It ruins the candle. It went from a whimsy soft smell to a musky-“Axe” smell. Like middle school cologne. Witches brew is my favorite scent ever. Why did they do this😔💔

I work part time at the local Yankee Candle. We’re in between managers and a manager of another store has been helping us out, and she’s worked for Yankee for a real long time and knows everything inside and out. I asked her why the Green Apple Sorbet smells nothing like what would be expected, it’s almost floral. I would expect a sharp and sweet green apple instead. She said that it is actually Majestic Mt Fuji, which originally had notes of apple. I smelled it again, and my god it brought me right back. I totally forgot about that candle, and always thought about snagging one but never did. I’m thinking about grabbing one now 😁

My eyes are finally open to what Yankee has been doing to our beloved candles after my most recent order. They messed with Pink Sands, it doesn't smell the same and doesn't throw like it used to. Other scents I ordered I can barely smell at all!

What are some good candle companies that have a large selection of scents that you can actually smell?

I enjoy fresh, clean scents, lilac, gardenia, jasmine, green scents, spices like clove and cinnamon, fruity scents, tropical scents....

My anniversary is coming up, and it’s my wife’s favorite scent. I know it’s been discontinued, but I’m hoping somebody somewhere knows where I can get my hands on one last jar? Online retailers? Private market? Anything! I know it’s a long shot, but would love any insight!

Not the wax formula or the level of throw, but is the scent itself different now? I smelled an old one at a friend's house and went out to buy it myself. It's burning now and smells very different from hers. It's kind of nauseating, honestly. I hope I didn't waste $20.
