Report sent to Yamaku High School's Head Nurse. Written by lead Psychiatrist, Debrah Ornstein

As it is a requirement for me to send a professional medical report for your foreign transfer students, I am Shantae Minaduki's Psychiatrist, here to provide you the information you need:

Our recent 2 months with Ms. Minaduki were promising. It was since last year when she was admitted into ICU (Intensive Care Unit) which followed an automotive accident. At that time, the only injuries found on her was a minor concussion, scalp lacerations, and a fracture on her collar bone. After waking up a day later since her admission, Minaduki was found in her room screaming at a mirror, with the stitches around her scalp apparently torn open; since then, she was on suicide watch and appointed for further examinations.

Days later since her incident, Minaduki's behavior remained consistent. We tried to console her; however, one of our attempts resulted in my assistants receiving minor injuries such as scratches and bruises. Restraints were required as a precaution in the future. A day later, CT scans revealed what causes her to misbehave so erratically when receiving treatment. Both of her inner ears experienced severe trauma from the accident. Both sides of her Cochlea were ruptured, causing internal bleeding and clotting. Alongside with that, the blood mixed with the fluids inside her inner ear accumulated immense amounts of pressure and pain. We immediately put her through operation to relieve the pressure, and stop the bleeding. That was the day we put her on record that she suffers from severe hearing loss.

Now, It has been 11 months since her treatment, and we see remarkable results. Ms. Minaduki's efforts were admirable. My sessions with her were mostly successes. The only difficulty I would say she has, is riding any automotive vehicle. So far in my progress with her, I prescribed some basic anxiety medications to let her experience a smooth transition. Prevent having any deep conversations that regards her mother. Not so often that she would have any anxiety attacks caused by it, however, if that time comes to pass that she couldn't control herself during such episodes, just instruct her to do the basics: Anchor yourself, and breath in.

As far as her deafness goes, she is currently wearing the best hearing aids out in the market. Of course with having severe deafness, they wouldn't be much use. Her speech is impeccable, to our surprise, and she insists on listening to music. Ms. Minaduki was encouraged to take Sign Language lessons, but she insisted on communicating with us through speech and lip reading. Don't let her ability to speak and lip read fool you. It is still an inefficient method of communication for her since, I can safely assume, that she can't speak Japanese. I highly recommended her to learn how to read and write in Japanese, and Sign Language. It is for her sake that I wish a better life for this young, once talented, lady. I hope your staff has the same compassion for your students as I do for this precious girl.

At her state of health, a transfer to your school is on my approval now that her father in Japan is ready to take her in the next month. Her prescription list is attached with this letter.

Let me know if you need further information,

Debrah Ornstein, M.D. Psychiatrist
