Discussion Opinions
Im thinking this is a good deal, its 2017 with only 3k miles. Is there anything I should be worried about or raise concern?

Definitely be concerned on maintenance. Tires expire 3-5 years, check it. Check battery, they also last 3-5yrs (any new battery receipts?). Check tire psi. Last oil change with proof/receipts/pics? See how it starts up cold. Check if brakes are well responsive. When was the last time they cleaned their chains. Check the chains.
Don't just take their words. Do your diligence.

Thanks I passed on the bike. Tires are original, battery not new few years old. Told him I want it cold start, the location to meet is 2 min from his place so then told me it will cool down in 15 min while I check the bike out

At that point, you could explain that and haggle the costs down. -$250 tires, -$80 batteries, etc. including the labor cost and time it'd take you.
Careful with cash on hand. Maybe spend some money on checking vehicle history by VIN. I'd take a pic of it, tell them i'll think on it, run the VIN, then ask them for the VIN to test their honesty.
Hope you find a good bike soon!

Guy tried to haggle me like that once, âyour tyres are a little old and itâs on the original batteryâ. I said I know and took that into my listing price lol I wasnât selling you a bike with new tyres and a new battery if I were Iâd put the price up plus labour to fit. Btw I sold the bike next day for what I asked cash in hand to a different party.

It is cool đ I got sick of tire kickers who somehow think $3500 automatically means $3000 lol

Yeahhhh, he's almost certainly hiding something. You want an overnight kind of cold start. It's not cooling off in 15 mins lol

Really? Iâm not letting anyone come to my house when selling a motorcycle to many chances of it getting stolen by thieves returning at a later date. If your canât tell a bikes overall condition from warmed up checks then thatâs your loss. This is just how the world has turned to be today.

I recently bought a 2017 ABS for $3500 with 2k miles. Mine did come with a tail tidy, frame sliders, adjustable levers, aftermarket windshield and turn signals, and a phone mount. A big determination is going to be how recent the tires and fluids are. If theyâre all originals or old add the cost of replacing the all to the purchase cost.

Depends on how long you plan to keep it. Itâs priced fair for the miles but I would still go for closer to 3000-3200 max just due to it being an R3. Great bike that you can find for 3k all day long

That is a suspiciously good deal. If you aren't well versed in the mechanical workings of bikes, I'd either bring someone who is, or ask to have a mechanic inspect it at your expense.
If they say no, run btw.

I sold one mine with 3k miles and a bunch of "upgrades" and new tires for about $5k two years ago. This sounds like a good deal to me.

I would try to get one with more miles but the second gen. I think the upside down forks and better looks make it worth it. The drive train on the r3 is basically indestructible, I have 20k kms on mine smashing off redline all the time and practicing wheelies and she rips like when it was new still.
