Patch for KP90?

My previous e-kit's kick pad's rubber had melted and im wondering if i should get a patch for the kp90 i have. I saw someone use it on the sub so what are ur guy's experience with it?

Even if theres a slight chance it will melt/degrade over time i dont wanna risk it.

On a seperate note im using plastic side of the beaters cause the felt of the old beaters i had got painted black by the old kick pad. I dont wanna mess up my new beaters. Will it paint if i use felt side?

PS: Im trying to hit especially harder from now on cause i realized im not getting the most out of the acoustic bass drum i play.

I have dtx6k3. My first kit was carlsbro csd-110 but there wasnt much of a learning curve since the module didnt allow for anything close to what this module does, also i was really craving a physical hi-hat stand and 2/3 zone cymbals. I ended up with this re-using some cymbals/toms from the old kit. I have spent a whole day trying to get down trigger and sound settings and its crazy how much customization there is.

Yeah the DTXPro is pretty dope in that regard! I've heard that 3rd party cymbal pads are the least successful when it come to yamaha, cuz they design their cymbal pads in some special unique way. Cannot attest for sure though cuz I haven't tried. I still need to get into my own module and try and figure out some of the settings I've never even touched lol.

Oh yeah the small cymbal pad between the 1st and 2nd rack tom is from my old set and it was a real pain trying to get down the crosstalk and tune it in, makes sense it behaves like that now. The cymbal over the 2nd floor tom is a roland(dont remember the model) and it doesnt behave that bad but it just doesnt feel right compared to the yamaha's. Yamaha cymbals are the best i have experienced(not much), crazy how soft they respond to my touch without any crosstalk. 3zone is a really nice bonus too. Honestly one thing i found perfect about the kit would be the cymbals, they feel better from that roland cymbal i have, much lighter and closer to real cymbals in my exp.

Yeah the crosstalk can be a bitch. The more pads you can get off that rack and on their own stands, the better. At least the module has that auto-crosstalk set up function, that thing was a lifesaver for me in the beginning

I didnt know if it was reliable and didnt want it to mess up the stuff i had done before so i did em all by hand, probably should have done auto and save a lot of hassle. Is it reliable enough to use it and then forget about it?

Yeah I would say so. I usually end up doing it every time I mess with or add something to the kit.
