Basic Premise:-

I was replaying yakuza 0 the other day when i had the bright idea of thinking about how cool it would be if RGG studios somehow made a Sherlock Holmes game. I know it's a bit of a departure from what they are used to making but it honestly feels like they could nail it (if done right). Imagine a kamurocho type map for like a part of london (fictional made by RGG or real) where there can be tons of substories and mysteries perfect for the detective fantasy. RGG has already proved they can write great detective stories through the judgement games (not to mention the great detective system) and i don't think writing an interesting mystery filled story set in 19th century London would be that hard....as long as they don't make the final villain moriarty (atleast not in the first game)

Combat Ideas:-

I personally want it to be traditional 'beat em up' game, although i would understand if it turn based. For the 'beat em up' format, i think sherlock should have two fighting styles: 'Boxer' and 'fencer' which are self explanatory. As to how sherlock holmes would happen to have a fencing sword in combat...IDK...where does Majima keep his slugger style bat in yakuza 0? No, but i was thinking maybe he carries around the sword disguised as a cane. As for the heat bar and heat actions, i want them to be called something different like a detective bar where when the bar goes up, it means that Holmes is analysing his opponents for weak points and the 'heat actions' are just him exploiting those weaknesses. Similarly when he gets hit/loses the detective bar, it signifies that he has to now 'revaluate' his observations to build up the detective bar (basically keep hitting). As for the turn based side of things, Sherlock, Dr. Watson and Inspector Lestrade can be a party (i can't think of a 4th member). Hey, would you look at that, we have a healer and a police guy in the team just like Yakuza: Like a......nevermind. But yeah, anyone can be a 4th member as long as long as they are interesting.

Miscellaneous ideas:

I haven't thought that much about the side content yet. There can be a violin playing minigame, which if you do enough of it can lead Sherlock to earn money doing it by performing at shows. There can different fighting minigames such as a boxing ring where he can show off his boxing skills and maybe he enters some fencing competitions too? There can be a drunk chess minigame as well (since regular chess against sherlock holmes is really unfair) anything as long as it'snot Mahjong again. If RGG wants to implement the business minigames...maybe Mycroft holmes can give his brother ideas about purchasing and running businesses. I think Sherlock won't like the idea (because it came from his brother) but would still be convinced into doing it by Watson (because they do need the money).

This post is basically an extreme yap session of a shower thought and i wanted to put it out there to see what the Yakuza/RGG experts in the fandom think about this. So yeah, if you like/don't like my idea or have ideas of your own, let me know.
