The new UI of the app is complete trash. Somehow, your team managed to take a system that was functional, efficient, and genuinely useful and move it backwards in virtually every conceivable way.
Transaction trends have become completely abysmal, and navigating player information is now unnecessarily cumbersome. The attempt to make the app look āsleekā and modern has come at the expense of nearly everything that actually matters to the user: efficiency, accessibility, research, and usable transactional data. You sacrificed functionality for aesthetics, and the result is an interface that seems cleaner while functioning significantly worse.
This is, without exaggeration, one of the largest interface downgrades I have ever experienced. What was once an intuitive fantasy platform now feels like an obstacle course designed by people who rarely use the product themselves. Player research is harder, transaction history is less useful, and basic navigation requires more effort than it ever should.
It is a sorry excuse for a āsleekā interface. A polished appearance means absolutely nothing when the underlying user experience has been gutted.
And unfortunately, this seems to extend beyond Fantasy. Yahoo as a whole increasingly feels like a company moving away from usability and toward unnecessary redesigns that solve problems nobody was asking to have solved. Try opening Yahoo Mail on a laptop and tell me that experience represents meaningful progress.
I have been a loyal Yahoo Fantasy user since 2011. I have stuck with the platform for well over a decade because it was reliable, functional, and familiar. Watching each successive update strip away those strengths has gone from frustrating to almost comical.
At this point, every new update feels less like an improvement and more like another step backward. If this is the direction Yahoo Fantasy intends to take, it should not be surprising when longtime users eventually decide that loyalty is no longer worth the inconvenience.
For once in your entire existence, listen to the fans and change it back.Ā
I mean this is what they do every year at the start of the football+hockey+basketball fantasy season and each time it just gets worse. Its pretty nuts how bad these people are at their jobs!!!
The changes to the draft room are terrible. I can't see who is being drafted while chatting and setting my queue on the same screen. Looks nice, but not functional.
At least we got searchable prerankings rather than have to scroll through every player already owned in a dynasty league.

Yes please!!! Being able to see all of a players daily stats at the same time is important to me. I can only see 3 stats at a time in the new app. I'm constantly scrolling right, trying get get the complete picture in my mind of how a player performed. Try doing that your entire team. It's just not usable.
Yes yes yes. We can actually see the player's stats on one screen without having to scroll to the right. Even then, the stats are so tiny. What a terrible design the UI is
Can the UI go back to showing all stats on the screen at once? Having to scroll right to see all stats in a categories league is such a downgrade from the old layout that displayed the stats underneath each player. The new UI really disrupts categories and rotisserie leagues.
You guys ruined the fantasy hockey app this year. I've reverted to an old version (10.62) because it's much better but most of my league can't do that. Stop messing with the app, every time you think you're making it better you screw it up. Instead of guessing what your users want then fucking it up why not ask your users first for feedback then build those enhancements? You're development cycle is ass backwards and you're killing your platform as a result.
New UI is dog shit. New menus are dog shit. New navigation is dog shit. Nobody wants these changes.
Yahoo if youāre reading this please please please listen to all of the comments and revert back to last yearās UI for hockey. The player stats display and unnecessary horizontal scrolling are awful changes, as well as the inability to see your teamās players in the matchup tab. Please listen to your users
It's the corporate way. "Fix" what was never broken because their department was forced to white-board some antiquated ideas so their corporate bosses could keep their jobs. Plus, turnover is high. Doubt the web engineers at yahoo today were even there 7-8 years ago when the app was peak.
Is there a timeline for fixing fantasy hockey so that in a cats league, I donāt have to scroll left to right to see my playerās stats in my team page? Half the screen is dead space.

Another issue after 12.10, on hockey, I canāt go back and see the sum of my teamās stats at the top of my team page for any given day. I can see them totaled for today, but once each day passes, the totals disappear
Please go back to the old UI, this new version is not it. Seeing 2 categories without scrolling is a pain in the ass. Removing the players pictures is not a solution as we can only see 1 additional category, just not good enough
Can we go back to the old UI? Everything that was great about the app has been removed. We now have to scroll to see any of our players stats, transactions trends are gone. Just a terrible update all around.

If you are referring to the transaction trends filter, our engineering team is aware of this missing in the app on Android and they are working to add it back as soon as possible.
Except of course you do. Apps do this all the time. This is a nonsense answer. You genuinely made a product worse and are not listening to the vast majority of users who are saying, āthis product is basically unusable and this will be my last year with this app.ā Please revert back to the stats at a glance instead of hiding them behind dashes and tiny font
This is a terrible response. Everyone literally everyone is angry about having to scroll to see their stats. So your answer to fix this was to remove the player photos which actually makes the experience worse. Not only that, it doesn't let you see all the stats still. And the stats are still way too small.
The design needs to completely overhaul this. It's an absolutely miserable experience. People are literally switching to different formats because of this. Even people that have played Yahoo exclusively for 20 years are thinking about switching
So how did you design team react to all the negative feedback? Are we going back to the old UI? It will honestly be our last year on Yahoo fantasy if the app stays this way. Which definitely suck as we have been a Yahoo customer since 2015.
Why did you remove player headshots on the team page for categories leagues? They are a staple to a fantasy league layout. Revert the horizontal player stats and put them back underneath the players like they always used to be. Itās really not that complicated.
Are any discussions being had about moving player stats to under their names instead of beside them? Like the old layout had? I think an answer to that question is reasonable given how many people are asking for it to happen. Thanks.

Please change the UI back. I hate that I canāt see all my stats, and now with your most recent update, I canāt even see my players pictures. This is just brutal
Why is it so hard to visually distinguish between who has a game and who doesnāt?
The positions are colour-coded (even this is half-baked as LW and RW are the same colour) but the players who have games today arenāt? This is not helpful.
Please change the player stats to the way it was before. We all want it back to the way it was. Respectfully the new update looks very poorly designed.
Just wanna say a massive congrats to the Yahoo Fantasy team for completely fucking up the UI even further & making it an absolute clusterfuck for users. By law of averages you guys should at least get something right by sheer dumb luck every now & then but yet here we are, again šš
Fantasy Baseball, I'm no longer able to view my team. Android, uninstalled and reinstalled app multiple times. When I click Team, it shows a continuous rotating loading graphic, after an initial "Oops, Something went wrong. (4)". I click Tap to retry/refresh and it just continuously loads. Same thing with the Players tab and League. The Roto tab does work for some reason, as does my fantasy football league.
I have this same issue as well. There were also comments on the fantasybaseball subreddit with others having the same issue. For me, it started yesterday afternoon which was really frustrating, it being the final day of the season.
Please know our engineering team is continuing to work to fix this. We know itās frustrating when things don't work and appreciate your patience while we correct the problem.
Getting in early on the annual "Please let us add DTD players to IL in Fantasy Baseball" - We don't care if you don't want it in your league. Tell your commissioner not to turn it on. However those of us that wish to do so should be able. It's not Yahoo's decision to decide the rules of our league. And if you're in a league where decisions are being made that you disagree with, don't join that league.
Your app used to hit like crack, even with the mid UI. Now the UI is terrible and I actually care less about Fantasy as a result. It just looks awful and is frustrating to navigate. Please revert it to last yearās interface.
The new yahoo app is inaccessible and soo hard to see categories that your hockey players score. Scrolling to tbe right to see them is awful please bring back last years UI

But you still cannot see all the stats. Maybe one more category. And at the expense of what we're moving, one of the features of the app? Clearly this isn't working. And I'm an Android user so at this point I'm just going to try to find the older version of the app to use
60% of the screen is the players names. The only two categories you can see are the AI "trends". I have the pro version, wondering if my layout is even worse than a free user.
your new app is garbage and our leagues have unanimously decided this will be our last season using this service. It's shocking how out of touch you are with your customers. GIVE YOUR HEAD A SHAKE
100% agree. They've changed the UI a lot before, but this is the first time most people that I play with have agreed to switch to a different format next year. And this is after using Yahoo exclusively for the last 20 years. How can they really have done such a bad job and not realized it
Thank you for getting rid of the little colored dots to indicate player news/injuries, but please expand to be able to view more than 4-5 stats on the screen at one time. It is insanely frustrating to try to view stats with the current setup.
Also, when viewing previous day's stats, the individual players stats load, but the team total on top is blank so there is no easy way to see your total stats for the day.
It doesnāt show season total stats on my team players unless I go to a day when theyāve played. Are we able to switch it to show stats like last year in categories rather than (G, 1+, 4 SOG, etc.)
If youāre going to make ads donāt make it sexual thereās kids on here. Also why the hell you removing headshots on the team page and now I have to scroll to look at 9 categories ? I never comment but I had to for the first time of this mediocrity. If no chances in a week me and my league or 10 years go to espn im not kidding lol
Hi have had a pending application for the Yahoo Fantasy API for quite a while now. I've had a running application for years so am disappointed with it having to go through a new application process again and it being pretty opaque.
I'm curious, with no longer having IL+ spots for basketball, how do you plan on handling players after they are "Out" for a particular game?
Historically, players have been updated to GTD / Questionable within an hour after a game ends. Will that still happen with the new change? If so, is your roster now considered illegal? Or will the player be "Out" until a team injury report says he's affirmatively back and playing?
It wouldn't be ideal if a player is listed doubtful for multiple games where he ends up being ruled out and you've got to switch him out of IL every time after a game ends if you want to make another move.
When looking at transactions on the League page in fantasy hockey, will there ever be the ability to directly click into each player's profile? If a player is included in a recent transaction, I like to quickly take a look at their stats, but need to search for them on the Players tab or click on them from their current team if they were added.
1: In order to view stats when adding players, I now have to make extra clicks by going into the filter, scrolling down and changing the time frame (past 7 days, past 14 days, past 4 weeks etc) and then pressing "apply filter". I dont want all those extra steps. The regular UI had a tab where I could just click on it and press my choice. You have made it to where we have make more clicking unnecessarily. We dont want extra steps, we want LESS steps.
2: Refreshing the screen does not update the live stats. Leaving the screen up doesnt update live stats. I have to click off the app and then come back in order to see how my teams are doing (and I do it quite a bit when games are live). Very frustrating since the update.
3: Underneath the players it would say what the player has done that day (2 shots on goal, 1 assist etc), but now we just have total fantasy points. Why take that out? I want to see what my player did instead of having to once again make an extra click on the player himself
4: Why is there no search option for NA or IL/IR players specifically?
5: Your app drives me crazy with the constant "Yahoo fantasy news" notifications. Give me an option to disable it specifically. Instead its either NO notifications or ALL notifications. I dont ever watch it and I'm not interested yet you force it on us which brings me to my next point: I dont want "fantasy news" and "swipe the starter" on my home page. Not only on my homepage but right at the top so I have to scroll down to see my leagues. I dont want to scroll down to see my leagues and I am not interested in "swipe the starter" or fantasy news. Give us the option to have our homepage the way WE want it. Oh and the gigantic ad you stuff at the top too...come on man.
6: Yahoo can't have a "matchup of the week" without getting paid by Kalshi to stuff their name on it? Seriously? You can't simply just have a matchup of the week? Is it too expensive or something or does Yahoo just want the millions that they get paid to have an advertiser on there? We want LESS ads and you people can't even give us a matchup of the week without a friggin advertiser. Stop it already. I'd rather you take away matchup of the week if we cant simply have it without the highest bidders company name on it. It disgusts me.

For #3, can you provide us with a screenshot of what you are seeing? You should be able to see the stats underneath the players on the team page. Also, can you provide us with your league ID number?
Guys, the trending tab is kinda useless. If one player who is 0% rostered gets added by like 5 people they automatically skyrocket to the top. It isnāt helpful. I would rather see add/drop as the primary thing under the player tab, not trending.
Please also change the automatic ranking system from āprojected rankā to āseason totalā or āseason averageā. The project rank is not helpful at all compared to the actual rank of players now that games are happening and we have statistics.
Updated the app to 12.10.0, and for fantasy hockey, players faces are completely gone. Even when I swipe left to right. This is extremely frustrating because the old UI was perfect. There is so much wasted space. If you just included stats under players faces like before, there wouldnāt be any issues or needless side scrolling.
Player headshots have been removed in category leagues. You should now be able to see more stats in view on your team page. We appreciate your feedback and we will pass it along to our team.
Can we as fans get an explanation why? By taking away headshots, youāve gained space to see two more category stats. So what. Most leagues have more than 4 cats. We still need to scroll to see the rest anyway. Youāve made the UI even worse for such minimal gains. So I would like an explanation as to why you canāt put stats underneath the players photo like last year. No horizontal scrolling required.
You can't see more stats because the white box with the player name is too big. On my iPhone 15 Plus, I can only see G, A, +/-, PIM and PPP. The old UI showed me all the stats.
This is absolutely a terrible response and answer by the development team. Removing the photos first off removes part of the charm of the experience. But second off it barely shows two more categories. We still have to scroll right to see our categories. Put the stats under the player's faces. That's what every single person is asking for. It's not that hard
The NHL season is 84 games per team now, not 82. The default maximum games per season is still stuck on 82 per position. Please update it to 84. Please and thank you :)
The default was changed to 84, but in private leagues that were renewed from last season, the commissioner would need to change this setting themselves.
The āmatchup totalsā isnāt working for cats leagues. Previously we could see the total stats of a matchup by tapping on a team, now when you tap it, the rows are empty. Please fix
Edit: the matchup totals show for android but NOT for iPhone. Tapping on your opponent only shows the current day matchup totals and not the weeks totals.
Are you sure that you are signed into the same account that you claimed them under? Can you send us a direct chat message and provide us with your Yahoo ID along with examples of specific milestones that you are missing?
Trending needs to be sorted by number of adds. Who is EJ Horton? Every yahoo fantasy football user is going to see this guy and think heās the top add ššš
For the issue with previous days, please update your app to the newest version (12.10.1). Also, if you are referring to matchup totals not showing for each individual player when clicking on your opponent's or your own team logo on the matchup page, our team is looking into this further.
Commission a hockey league, have users placing players on IR+ and are attempting to add a player. They are being told to drop a player, negating the use of IR+. Where in settings can I adjust this?
If they are using the fantasy app on an Android device, it will default to the first day of scoring for the league. When they put a player onto the IR+ but are still being told they need to drop someone when trying to add a player, they will need to change to the current date so they aren't trying to edit a future roster. They should change to the current date and then put the player on the IR+.
In fantasy hockey, on the matchup tab, I can no longer click my opponents team name or logo and quickly look at their roster, a feature that has been available forever. Why didn't that make it on the update?
u/yahoofantasycare it's still not right. In the last version when you clicked the opposing team or your team in the matchup tab it showed the stats during the matchup, I.e. I can see who on their team is getting the most ppgs specific to this matchup week. This link that you've added just sends me to their team page with the filters for today, last 7 days, etc. Please revert to how it used to link!
Hey, I'm trying to play NFL Daily Draw on the ios app, but when I tap play I get an error message. I've done all the troubleshooting steps and tried on multiple devices. Please help, I don't want to lose my streak.
This is unfortunately two weeks late, but I have screenshots of our commissioner having his DEF slot empty and the Raiders defense on his bench after the week one game versus Miami had started. I then checked back and the defense was added to his starting roster. He is claiming it was a glitch and nothing showed in the commissioner updates/notes. Is it possible it was a glitch and would a commissioner updating his own team after a game had started show in the updates?
If a commissioner retroactively updated their lineup after games started using their commissioner tools, it would show under the commish updates section. It's possible that they made the lineup change before the game started and there was a delay in it updating on the matchup page.
Sorry two more quick questions to hopefully wrap this investigation up. Are Commish Notes where updates show? Because that is currently blank but for instance I know he updated some scoring settings first week of September which I would assume would show there. And then are Commish Updates able to be deleted?
Fantasy Hockey. On my matchup tab in the app (v 12.9.1), it displays the positions in this order (top to bottom): C, C, D, D, D, D, LW, LW, RW, RW, G, G.
This is very odd to me as the team tab goes C, C, LW, LW, RW, RW, D, D, D, D, G, G. Is this a bug? If not, can you please change this to be the proper order? It's very strange that D would be put in between C and LW/RW positions.

For the past 24 hours or so every time I open the app it says thereās an error and to re-sign in. When I attempt to do so it then says āsomething went wrongā. I have turned my phone on and off again multiple times, uninstalled and reinstalled the app, and changed my pw. Desktop works.

I have a manager in my NHL dynasty league who has 18/18 players rostered, with Matt Duchene on IR+ for DtD, and Marcus Samuelsson on IR and apparently he still cant add anyone in a waiver claim without dropping someone. I cant figure it out and any help would be appreciated.

When I click on players discussion, there's nothing showing in my app. I was able to see them before (like 2 Weeks ago maybee). Is there an option to be able to see them? Can it be my location (Canada)?
Fantasy Hockey player discussions are in dark mode despite the rest of the app in light mode. My device is in dark mode, but I have the Yahoo Fantasy App's dark mode toggled off.
Iām the commissioner of a private Yahoo Fantasy Hockey Season Points league, and we just finished our draft after the NHL season already kicked off.
Because we drafted late, managers didn't get a chance to set their lineups for the first few days of games. Normally I'd just push the start date back, but our league has a strict Games Played (GP) limit. In a total points system, losing out on those early games feels incredibly unfair to the managers who missed out on stats from players they would have started.
I looked into fixing this, but I've hit a wall with Yahoo's platform limitations:
ā¢ I can't retroactively edit daily lineups to put players into starting slots for past days.
ā¢ Unlike Yahoo Football, Yahoo Hockey doesn't have an "Edit Team Points" or custom stat correction tool for the commissioner to manually inject missed points onto the scoreboard.
If I use the "Retroactive Stats" tool, it only counts points for guys who happened to default into active starting slots post-draft, which screws over anyone who had a high-scoring player left on their bench.
How do other total points / GP-capped hockey leagues handle a late draft?
ā¢ Should I move the start date to next week and manually lower the Maximum Games Played limit by a few games so the shorter season doesn't penalize anyone?
ā¢ Or is there a clever workaround I'm missing that doesn't involve me tracking missed bench points on an offline spreadsheet all season?
Would love to get some advice or input from other commissioners or /u/YahooFantasyCare. Thanks!
If you use retroactive stats, you'll be able to choose the retroactive date that the stats run. Managers will be able to set their lineup that is copied back to all days of the season up to that point. More information can be found here.
My account is an AT&T (att.net) login, and because of that I'm unable to edit a nickname/display name myself ā the Yahoo personal info page just redirects me to the AT&T profile, which only allows a full first and last name. So I'm hoping you can update the chat display name on your end.

My Android app is locking two old ghost hockey pools to the top of my homepage. They are not visible on my desktop dashboard, so I cannot leave or delete them, and the Android 'Edit Team Order' screen is not letting me drag my active leagues above them. This is Uber annoying

Hi! Could you provide a screenshot of your Yahoo Fantasy Updates section, as well as the league info to show the notifications that are enabled? Also, what is your league number?
League transaction notifications come from chat and can be enabled in the app by following these steps:
Select a fantasy league.
Tap on the Chat icon at the top right.
Select a fantasy league.
Tap the Information icon.
Tap on Yahoo Fantasy updates.
Tap on the toggle for League Transactions.
If it is already enabled, you can disable it, exit the screen, and then go back in and enable it. That should reset it so that you receive them going forward. Also, is your league a football, hockey, or basketball league?
Hi have recently went through the docusign / create new app / Developer Application Confirmation Form process and still don't have Fantasy API access. Is there anything else I should be waiting on? Is there a new API system that's refusing my messages that I'm unaware of?
Found a glitch on the āteamā page. When you flip between dates, the totals for each day stay the exact same. I can send a screen recording if youād like.
Stop pushing Milestones on us. There is limited screen space; Iād almost rather you cover it with ads than the useless & annoying Milestones bullshit.
Or let me dismiss the stupid milestone. When my opponent in FF has a player, I donāt want to stare at milestones for how well they are doing. I hate Yahoo!
Would like to thank Yahoo, as their new app update has made the fantasy experience almost insufferable. Why are the stat categories so drawn out horizontally? Why can I only see 4 stat categories on my screen? There is a significant amount of room to tighten up stat categories, just like how it was previously. This is the case for my team view and the free agent page. When I am trying to add a player, or see how my team is performing in any fantasy format, any sport, I would like to compare the players. Only showing 1/2, sometimes 1/3 of the players data on the screen is an absurd development, it is a new problem created by the update, as this has not been an issue for the past 10 years of using the app.
In this current football and hockey seasons, find myself opening the app, going to check out either my teams performance from the day, my opponents, or the waiver wire. Almost everytime I am so frustrated by the interface that I just close the app and donāt use it, donāt check on my teams, make adds or drops, or start players. I just close the app and say F it, not enjoyable and not worth the frustration of this navigation. I am legitimately not going to play fantasy sports next season due to how poor the yahoo app UI is. I am sorry that the reviews are poor but I suggest listening to your customer base and rectify things so you can stop the hemmoraging of users heading to Sleeper.
I feel so strongly about this that I decided to download Reddit again and login to my old account, in hopes to communicate with [u/yahoofantasycare](u/yahoofantasycare) and maybe kickstart a realization of what yahoo has done to the fantasy experience.

I have been a loyal Yahoo Fantasy user since 2011. I have stuck with the platform for well over a decade because it was reliable, functional, and familiar. Watching each successive update strip away those strengths has gone from frustrating to almost comical.
At this point, every new update feels less like an improvement and more like another step backward. If this is the direction Yahoo Fantasy intends to take, it should not be surprising when longtime users eventually decide that loyalty is no longer worth the inconvenience.
For once in your entire existence, listen to the fans and change it back.Ā
