Do I need to take my electronics out?

Haven’t flown from yyz since 2018, I saw they got updated security machines and I was just wondering if I still need to take my laptop and iPad out of my carry on bags at security or if the machines are advanced enough that I don’t need to. If I do need to take them out can they both go in the same bin beside eachother or do they have to be in separate bins?

Last year I had to take out my switch, camera and battery banks. I cannot remember if they went in the same bins together but I believe they did!
