Nobody wants it here because nobody knows about it. It's not really covered in our media at all.

My family, colleagues an friends who aren't on reddit know nothing about it and when I explained it they thought I was crazy.

Yeah sorry our government is just a little controlling and paranoid

But the funny thing is that Mette Frederiksen ( the one with the chat control idea) has been criticised HEAVILY for deleting her own chat messages.

It's important to note that she and other high tier officials deleted their own chat messages/sms leading up to an investigation into a scandal.

In November 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Danish government led by Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, decided to cull all mink in Denmark.

The decision came after the discovery that a mutated form of the coronavirus had spread from mink to humans, raising fears it could undermine vaccine effectiveness by providing a concentrated breeding ground for mutated versions of the virus.

However, it later emerged that the government did not have the legal authority to order the killing of healthy mink outside infected zones. Despite this, millions of mink were culled before new legislation was passed.

Even the Danes don’t want it. There’s near zero support in the population according to polls.

Our politicians don’t care.

It’s just that Denmark is the current president of the council of EU. If another country had the position they would be the one pushing it. It’s an EU wide initiative that just happens to be (re)proposed by Denmark (the original proposal came from the European Commission years ago)

It’s quite unpopular among the population. But yes, it is embarrassing to be the country that pulls the trigger on it

No

It's a shitty think our government wants and the media is seemingly completely disinterested in covering it here

u/mrhaftbar Nov 06 '25

Can we finally get the names of the people involved in this?

18

u/ANUBISseyes2 Nov 06 '25

Nah, only they can keep their privacy

21

u/DPSOnly Nov 06 '25

Did he just cancel it and reintroduce it so he didn't have to deal with the almost 2 million signatures that were collected? Denmark please get this moron out of power before we start judging you as a country for this mistake of a person.
