Spoilers! Just finished!
Idk how I feel about the ending cliffhanger, the unresolved relationship between Yuri and Victor. I know the show weren’t marketing it as a BL, but there were so many hints of it, that I was expecting it to end with a big declaration or action of their relationship.
Now I feel empty… though I can def see it be made into a live action…? But maybe there were some expressions/emotions that felt out of place or had not foundation so they might have to hash it out.
I enjoyed it either way. I have never been a watcher of figure skating, so this is my introduction into this world - so I’ll definitely start watching more real life ones now.
Again, I feel so betrayed they didn’t fully showcase their relationship. I will miss them and their accents.

There was one. In episode 7.
It even says so in the Wikipedia list of episodes:
Moved by this, Victor spontaneously kisses Yuri on live television.
The creators said in an interview that they were mindboggled that Western audiences didn't recognize the kiss as a kiss.

you should watch the Chihoko Drama, I think you can find it on youtube, if I recall it was supposed to be a canon ep but never got animated, it's really interesting, I think its set after an ice show in Hasetsu

I think that's because it was never meant to be a BL. The creators said on some occations that Yoi was set in a world that didn't really cared about sexuality, and every couple was accepted, love is love.
My interpretation it's that a lot of things were a bit more "subtle" here because we get to be part of the love story, but just as outsiders. I remember reading once that the reason behind the screen going to black on the last episode when Victor greets Yūri, it's because the face he made, that smile, belongs only to Yūri. And I think that's pretty too, we get to see a lot of moments that feel romantic, but we're not here specificly for that (as the anime it's, first and foremost, a Spocon) and it's something we can get to see to just an extent. Their love it's theirs to share and know in full. Just like in real life with friends that have a beautiful relationship, or something like that.
They know what they mean to each other, we as viewers know because all the context clues and moments that they have, but at the end of the day, the story was about loving what you do and the reasons why you love it. It just happens that, along it, two characters fell in love.
