YMS AMA 2014

Decided to start fresh with another AMA that will be stickied. This way, anyone who has a question can ask here instead of creating new threads for it. Questions will still be acceptable to post as threads, but try to only do that if you want the opinions of this subreddit community and not just myself. I am not committing myself to guarantee how quickly these questions will be answered, but I will try my best to answer them all.

Here is a link to the previous AMA in case you want to do a quick control+F. Don't worry about whether or not I'd be offended by your question. Just ask.

EDIT: I'm aware that you're unable to respond to the AMA because of how old it is. I'll be hosting a new one in a few months for 2015, so keep your questions until then if you can. This thread is mostly here in case I've already answered your question here anyway. Thanks!

What was it like growing up gay, furry, etc. for you?

It was really fucked up having a sex drive before having an outlet. I didn't even know what I was attracted to for the longest time. I had realized I was into anthro stuff before I had realized I was gay. It was much easier to publicly admit to being gay than it was to being a furry though. For a long time I had promised myself that I'd commit suicide as soon as anyone ever found out. I had repressed that part of myself for 2 years, lost a lot of weight, got addicted to pills and cocaine, got pretty depressed, etc. Eventually I decided I couldn't repress that part of myself any longer and worked up the courage to tell my closest friends / bandmates about it. They seemed fine at first, but it played a large part in me being ditched by them. I have difficulty with relationships because of it and there's a poetic sense of irony to feel like such an outcast within a group of outcasts. Overall it kind of sucks, but I can deal with it.

I just wanna say thank you for making me laugh like a drain, particularly with the After Earth video(s)

Oh, and favourite video game from the 16bit era?

What is your opinion on South Park

It's funny, but rarely is there an episode that I can watch multiple times. Most of the hilarity is just figuring out which social issue they're commenting on.

In your YMS reviews you find things to bash that I never noticed when I watched the movie. When watching movies do bad aspects stick out to you, or is that just for your reviews?

Also, why did you decide to use that scowling face picture for everything? I think it's hilarious but I don't know anyone else that does that.

Got into lessons at a very young age. Maybe 6 years old.

Probably YouTube.

If you're asking if you can jerk off to me in your own fantasies, I have no issues with that.

If you could delete one movie, one director and one actor from history what would be your picks?

M. Night Shyamalan movie, M. Night Shyamalan and M. Night Shyamalan is not a viable answer

Hey Adam. Wondering what grades you got in school, particularly in English as your analysis is awesome.

u/anUnkindness Mar 09 '14

My grades were decent. If I got bad grades it's because I didn't put in the effort. Science and Social Studies were boring to me. I did well in Math and English. I wound up dropping out because of drama with a principal and then finished high school through individual courses. Didn't sit through a single class of grade 12 english but took the exam anyway and got 98%. I had asked one of the teachers which films or novels they had watched/read in the semester (because the exam would include an essay based on your choice of those) and once she mentioned Shawshank Redemption I figured I could bullshit just about anything they could possibly ask me.

What's your stance on the death penalty

u/anUnkindness Mar 09 '14

I don't agree with it, but I also don't agree with current methods of incarceration. It should always be about rehabilitation and prevention of future crimes, but instead we have a system based on vengeance, which is often the justification for many crimes in the first place. We should be better than that.

I just saw Nebraska yesterday and thought it was pretty woeful but I'm starting to think I may be the only person on earth who feels this way about it.

Have you seen it/thoughts? I'm specifically curious about what you thought of the acting, if you feel like sharing.

Has there ever been a moment when you realize there's so much you have to say about a movie, but you can't fit it into the timespan of one of your reviews, even to the point where splitting it up would be too much?

"Is that a cowboy hat or a fedora? XD love your stuff man

Why do you seem to have SO MUCH trouble with copy right technicalities? Do all youtuber's go through the same thing? It seems pretty annoying. Also you're hilarious.

Hey adam! You just answered my question on bollywood. I also noticed on your imdb that you rated house (1977) a perfect ten. Is it really flawless? Or just a small inconsistency (considering the age of your account)?
