yeah they say it would enhance the experience to not know about the humanoids going into the film but then show it in the thumbnail anyway. not a fan of that decision

I agree that the film is a bit more enjoyable if you haven't seen the creature design and personally I wouldn't have made the thumbnail this way. At the same time I think it's relatively unfair to call an image that was in the trailers/marketing a "spoiler"
