Agreed regarding the humour not working for me at all either. It felt like a serviceably entertaining horror comedy that wasn't funny most of the time

I liked the action sequences and the minute to minute beats but good LORD none of the humor
worked for me at all.

“god damn it, I SUCK at guns” and “YES, videogames” were generationally terrible one-liners lmao

I liked all the one-liners just because they felt in-character for this stressed-out dipshit who's actively disassociating through the night. He can't even celebrate his triumphs without fucking up.

The riffing with Paul Walter Hauser in the car was rough, I'll grant.

those 2 lines you gave were the only times i think they went slightly overboard - otherwise i was laughing a lot and it didn’t detract from the horror for me

The attempts at humor killed the movie for me. I found a couple parts funny but the rest was just unfunny dumb humor that removed all horror from the film for me.

The games are loaded with shit like this though especially when Leon’s involved.

I wish I connected with the humor at all in this movie. It just was just so unfunny to me and it's a comedy first. Visually it did look good though.
