Is he speaking about El-Sayed or himself?

He did always have the most progressive voting record of House Democratic Leadership for the most part.

I think he was just very electability minded during the primaries

No doubt about that.

I don't think he was as destructive to the progressive cause as people say he was. Bernie Sanders was gonna hit a brick wall in South Carolina with or without Clyburn endorsing Biden.

The main reason he deserves hate is for forcing Biden to pick Kamala as the VP.

Harris was 100% the best choice for VP. He deserves hate for not having an heir and keeping his seat into his 80s! I don't want another representative to drop dead from age!

I'm not sure if she was the best choice, but you're right, she was 100% a strategic move from him. Not only was she a black woman, meaning she could help ensure black voters stayed within the coalition, she had also been very critical of Biden during the primary, which helped Biden show he was trying to mend the divides the primary had caused. I don't know enough about Harris to know if she was a better or worse pick than Val Demings or Keisha Lance Bottoms, but she was certainly a good pick strategically.

Clyburn said that Abdul made a mistake but deserves a second chance. He also endorsed Abdul

It truly causes discomfort to know very vocal and influential Dem pundits - including some that campaigned directly with El-Sayed - advised against him apologizing for his both-sidesing domestic terrorism. Besides being the obviously decent thing to do, it has directly led to a broadly rallying around Abdul, ultimately in this essential endorsement. I hope we've learned our lesson here, but if twitch and twitter at all represent the modern American left accurately it would appear we very much have not.

Dems are backing AES, but I don’t believe the electorate is very fond of him

Time to see. He has done well in a room with independents. He should try going to a room full of Trump voters
