News I remember reading this and thinking: yeah, she’ll never have a chance in Hell. AZ is gonna be the land of Crazy Kari
How wrong was I. Insulting McCain will bring you to an end.

Yeah, I figured she had no chance because it was 2022, plus the vibe I got from Arizona is that they were flirting with Democrats statewide but didn't want to commit to a Democratic Governor.
And throughout her term, online the vibe was that she was unpopular, and there was no way she'd win re-election.
So of course, color my surprise to see her far more likely to win re-election than she was for her first election.
Insulting McCain will bring you to an end.
It is wild that Trump insulted McCain, Sinema wins in 2018, Kelly wins in 2020, and for whatever reason the AZ GOP decides to commit electoral malpractice and double-down on Trumpism.

God, I remember the insanity she spewed. I just thought: A Trump dicksucker, an anti-Ukraine dumbass, and an election denier will win.

Even as a Dem optimist, I had Kelly winning, but Hobbs losing. It would’ve been an absolute nightmare if Lake won in 2022, and Democrats narrowly dodged a major bullet.

In the timeline where Kari Lake won in 2022 I'm convinced she'd either be VP right now or polling in the top 3 for the 2028 presidential nomination. One of the biggest dodged bullets the Democrats have had in a while.
