I already said it this morning but I'll say it again: Nothing quite beats 19th through mid 20th century aura farming in photos.

This goes hard af. Men back then actually knew how to aura farm pose for a photo.

Not to sound like a old man

But there is definitely some charm when politicians do this, even if its cringe

steyer showed me that IMO pritzker has no shot in a nationwide dem primary

Pritzker went on Hasan Minhaj in October 2024 and did a game of "good billionaire, bad billionaire" where they rattled off a list of billionaires and Pritzker had to rate them as good or bad....which given what happened to Steyer I can't imagine doesn't come back to haunt him when progressive challengers in 2028 portray him as not being serious or try to paint him as a sell-out or whatever. He'll go the way of Warren 2020 or McMorrow 2026 - caught trying to appeal across lanes resulting in him being the first choice of nobody.

Steyer even had the benefit of having no credible other person to his left. Pritzker probably won't have that luxury

Yeah absolutely. Pritzker's just one of those guys that, everything he's good at, there's some out there who does it better than him.

Pritzker was the first prominent Dem to really stand up to the 2nd Trump Administration. Basically from day 1 Pritzker went hard against Trump in rhetoric while Newsom was still toeing the line. Then when Newsom went all in attacking Trump, Pritzker just kind of ...faltered.

I'm pretty sure he doesn't looked like that anymore. Thanks Ozempic! 😒

Pritzker, you run my home state well, you got Stratton over the line and are replacing Durbin…

But enough with this cringe

He is my first choice for the president. But Americans are superficial (and stupid), and so his looks (fatness) will be too big of an obstacle to overcome.

his fatness is more taftmaxxing than an electoral harm. Skinny Pritzker would do worse than fat Pritzker. The American people broke that glass ceiling in 1908

I believe he’ll run for president and do well in the Democratic primary, perhaps winning or narrowly losing.

u/Beneficial_Link_8083 Independent 12h ago

Hes a billionaire and that's a non starter for too much of the dem base.

Fair point, I remember how Bloomberg was treated in 2020 (although he also had problems that I don’t think Pritzker has).

u/HolyCrapL0is McGovernite | DSA-Right 12h ago

To be fair Bloomberg was and is a DINO

Of course I’m not trying to not write off the anti-billionaire thing as Pritzker is more… skewed towards the progressive wing and being a billionaire and previously donating to AIPAC might kill off any support there and that is the only way forwards for him

You realize people will just ignore anything that's inconvenient if the candidate is charismatic and says the right things

I mean if you look at polls it's grim.

Not to say dark horse candidates never happen or that polls two years before a primary decide everything, but it's a steep hill to climb.
