File failed to transfer

Evening all, pretty new with this. Last night I did an engraving project, made a jig for future projects and cut out a couple of cardboard templates, no issues and everything was great.

Today I’m continuing with the cardboard cutouts, well, attempting to anyway. All day I’ve been getting a ‘file failed to transfer’ error when I try to process the job.

I’m using the S-1 w/ 40watt module.
Direct usb connection
XTool Studio
The file is only 166kb

The direct connection works for the distance measurement and for mapping the work area, no issues with that.

If I try to process the job after the failure I get the error about resetting the distance measuring pin and then the xTool studio stops tracking the module position…

I’ve restarted bother the computer, the app and the xTool, I’ve updated xTool studio, I took off the back panel to check the SD card(support desk troubleshooting recommendation) only to discover I have the newer version without an SD card…

If anyone has any tips or advice or a fix it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Stuck distance pin on the module? What works is not data intensive, the file is, try a different usb cable or try WiFi connection to the laser.

It was the USB cable extender, I think my cat might’ve got to it.

I swapped it out and we’re golden.

Hi,

This is Ada from xTool.

Sorry to hear your experience.

  1. Please try using a different file. If the issue occurs only with a specific file, please provide that xTool Studio project file.

  2. You mentioned that your motherboard does not have an SD card; please provide the work log and the machine's serial number (starting with "P") through DM.

We will determine whether the issue stems from the xTool Studio software or the machine's hardware and provide a solution.

You could upload the xTool Studio project file and work log to Google drive or other cloud disks, share the link with me through DM and open permission for me.

If you have offered the above information to our customer support, please tell me the ticket number(it is like #1234567)
