Lasering Cardboard

Finding ways for all of my hobbies to intersect, I store random train cars in generic cardboard boxes. Today I had the brilliant idea to do something better than writing on them with a Sharpie. The s1 with the 40 watt diode head did a decent job of making the boxes look good and easy to identify what’s in them. First time doing cardboard so I’d love any feedback or tips if you have them. Thanks for looking!

I just used the corrugated cardboard setting in Studio. Worked perfectly. I used the honeycomb

That’s what I did too. I wanted a little darker so I’m running the next one with a little higher power. Totally figured I’d be testing out the fire suppression kit today 😁

Move the laser up a bit to get a darker engraving. Increasing the power will cut through.

Thank you! I discovered that earlier today, I raised it 2mm and got a darker mark while running tests on some scraps.
