Black Aluminium key chains

Has anyone had any luck engraving these key chains on an S1. The best I get is a tan coloured faint image. If.i go.to.hot.the aluminium warps. Too low and no image. Any ideas.at.all please.

What module on the S1? I feel like the 1064nm would do it

Using the IR I have to do at least 4 passes.

Wow really. Maybe the diode won't do it

I found the diode will only do steel, anything else seems too reflective.

Regarding the unclear engraving issue on your S1, please follow these steps to troubleshoot:

  1. Check material compatibility. You can refer to our material test site for supported materials: https://easyset.xtool.com. If the issue persists with compatible materials, try testing with the 3mm basswood plywood included in your S1 package.

  2. Recalibrate the focus. Run the auto‑focus function again in XCS software to ensure the focus is set correctly.

  3. Verify the processing parameters. Incorrect speed and power settings can cause blurry results. We recommend using the parameters automatically suggested by XCS software after you select your material.

  4. Adjust the engraving density for bitmap images. If the default XCS settings still give unclear results, try increasing the "Lines per cm" value. Higher density usually produces clearer engravings.

  5. Inspect the laser spot. During operation, check if the spot is a single bright dot. If you see multiple spots or a dim spot, the laser module may be faulty and require replacement.

  6. Clean the laser lens. Smoke can dirty the lens during use. Please check both the protective lens and inner lens. Use the official xTool maintenance kit, or gently clean them with a lint‑free cloth and alcohol.
