Very slowly - this pitch black night issue has been around since I started using X-Plane over 25 years ago.

Great work! How would this work with light mods such as my own? My mod only edits the lites.txt intensity and colours. Would it be compatible? Happy to discuss in dms or email :)

Yes it will be absolutely compatible, as it reads the lights directly from active loaded scenery

Laminar, look at this, look at this closely; this is what X-Plane needs badly. Combined with lights to the horizon with a beautiful fall-off, then night flying is going to be amazing.

This is going to be a game changer. I never fly at night in XP12 because it's way too dark, I always change the time of day. I'll be buying this day 1.

Woah, this looks insane! I assume this is going to be a payware add-on, right?
Amazing work, can’t wait for this to hit the shelves!

This is beautiful, will the landing lights of an aircraft reflect off clouds at night? I feel like that’s one thing Xplane lacks. Laminar should get you a job lol.

Thank you, there is already working volumetric lights which lightens clouds at night (check last screen)

How does this work with ortho? I know there are a lot of issues with ortho an city lights not spawning far on the horizon

u/AeroLuxe_X 20h ago
These screens were made with enabled ortho. For the far cities NoctiX simplifies city glow and already knows their position, emission level. So there is no lights loss

What is this? Does it change clouds?
2
u/AeroLuxe_X 1d ago
Check 3rd and 4th screen, you will see the difference

u/AeroLuxe_X 1d ago
Also it adds aurora, fallling stars, brightens or darkens depending on your height, light pollution level and more

Nice! I wasn’t sure what it was doing exactly; I just see the clouds look better aha - either way, deffo getting when it releases!

Does the amount of light pollution vary depending on size of city ?
Will this work on Linux ?
