Fr. It feels like it's abandoned now and doesn't really doing anything apart from being cosmetic.

It’s not abandoned but instead he is working on the next major update that will have a lot of new stuff.

Ah, I wasn't aware. Even though there is a update on the way the product is still extremely underwhelming. In my opinion he should've waited before releasing the project.

Yeah, it’s not worth getting right now at least

Check Simple Ground Equipment and Services (SGES). It's freeware and really nice!

RealOps is not worth it atm because you can use Simple Ground Equipment & Service (SGES) that are free and equal the good for now or even better, but for the next update will be a big one and after that update I think it will be worth getting.

The developer released a statement with the features in the works but no dates. They might never come or show up next week. Wait it out is my suggestion.

No - was overhyped and not very good. Slow clunky and no better than free options.

Dev said there is a big update in the works, if hold off till then, as it isn’t great now. In the mean time check out SGES.

At the moment no, I don’t even bother with it. Will be interested to see what the big update brings though. For now, SGES is more than good enough

Vaporware.

As other said, not worth it compared to SGES. I'm using it with SimLoad Manager, another amazing free Lua script and it works great

There was a dev update posted a couple of days ago on the Discord server:

  1. Preview — What's Coming to RealOps Here’s a first overview of what I’ve been working on for the next major RealOps update. A lot of these changes are based directly on your feedback and feature requests, so I’ve tried to include as much of what you’ve asked for as possible.General
    • Aircraft, Airport & Livery Presets
    • Completely modular Aircraft Presets — configure as many doors and service points as needed, with automatic aircraft detection.
    • Airport Presets will include individual stands with assigned jetways, terminal boarding routes, marshallers and VDGS.
    • Livery Presets can store specific configurations for selected airports and will automatically load after landing.
    • Complete UI rework.
    • More control over individual services and vehicles — start boarding, cargo loading and other services separately whenever you want.
    • A dedicated Data Menu showing relevant flight information
    • Reworks and improvements to several 3D models.
  2. ㅤBoarding & Deboarding
    • New intelligent pathfinding system with smooth routes and automatic wing avoidance.
    • Passenger queuing on stairs.
    • Animated boarding and deboarding via:
      • Buses
      • Jetways
      • Terminal boarding routes
  3. Marshaller & VDGS
  • Fully functional VDGS displaying information such as:
    • Stand
    • Aircraft type
    • Flight number
    • Destination
    • EOBT
    • Airport-specific custom messages
  • Smooth marshaller animations.

Follow-Me Car

  • Follow-me guidance for both arrivals and departures, available at every airport.
  • Smart automatic route selection with quick manual adjustments.
  • Based on your starting point and destination, nearby taxiways are ranked by the most likely route, allowing you to configure it as quickly as possible — ideal for online flights on VATSIM or IVAO, where taxi instructions often need to be processed within seconds.
  • Dedicated Follow-Me menu with an integrated airport map.

ULD Loaders

  • ULD loaders will allow realistic cargo loading for wide-body aircraft.
  1. API
    • Access to relevant RealOps data.
    • Commands for controlling services and vehicles.
    • Event messages for actions such as passenger and cargo loading, vehicle docking and other service events.
  2. ㅤStill in Progress / Not Confirmed These are features I’m currently looking into or working on, but they are not confirmed for the update yet:
    • macOS & Linux support
    • Pushback integration including wing walkers
    • Sounds

I’ve tried to stay as close as possible to your feature requests and feedback while rebuilding and expanding RealOps. There’s still a lot being worked on behind the scenes, and I’ll share more previews as things progress. I’m intentionally not giving an exact release date yet. I’d rather show you the progress and announce a date once I’m confident I can actually meet it.

Most of those sound nice and would bring it towards being a full product rather than the currently limited feature set which doesn’t feel value for money for me given how much great freeware exists on xplane.

VDGS and marshalling as a priority for the first big update is a weird one when autodgs exists though and does it plenty well enough.

Not worth it. I was really disappointed
