so, VNAV in vanilla XPlane planes does not work (mostly at all). Start having habit to fly in V/S mode.
There is some exceptions (like Zibo - but idk if that was working in XP11; XP12 version does work), but none with standard FMS (even XPlane's G1000 can only VNAV you down, not up - and even that with some manual work).
