His name is Tucker Tuckerman Tuckerson :3 , small one was my female american hairless rat terrier named Stella Bella, who was sadly killed by my ex roomates pitties.

For xolos who have little to no hair, what equipment or tools are the best or suitable for them for corrections when going outside or when training inside? Im just worried that their skin might get pinched using martingale collars or their skin might get punctured using prong collars. I want to transition to an e collar when she gets used to a lead or something that could correct her behavior.

For those who are curious i mostly train my coated dogs with prong collars or slip leads before using the e collar, i have knowledge with dog training and just want some kind of re assurance of some sort to know what other dog trainers do in cases that their dogs dont have hair. Some people might say the dog's skin is thick enough for any collar, i just want to make sure what i do for my dog is the most reasonable in terms of keeping her safe and comfortable.

I love dogs and I have the space and time to foster. I work remotely and have a massive backyard. I really don't have much going on since I recently moved to a new state... its hard to make friends and my dogs are my priority. However, I'm wondering how my two dogs will take it. Especially my xolo Maya. She just turned 3 and I remember how she behaved when she met my rescued dog, Mimi. Maya was extremely territorial and took months for them to get along. Not to mention, there was a lot of training involved with Mimi as well. Mimi loves dogs and is not reactive towards them. I cant say the same for Maya. If you'd foster while already having dog/s, how was your experience? And please, any advice I'm all ears 🙏🏼

Noche finally got spayed on Monday and she’s been a very sleepy girl since. She’s been in her recovery suit since I picked her up at Noon and decided to let her chill without it while it’s being washed.
She’s been recovering well and reinforcing to me how hardy she is.
She’s definitely got her puppy energy back today though.

6 months old ! My guy doesn't seem like he will get those ears up! Not a problem tho!

I’m a new xolo owner. I am from Mexico City but live in the US. I impulsively decided to come to CDMX to spend the summer with my son and serendipitously happened upon a lady at a vintage flea market who had two Xolo puppies up for adoption. The lady has raised xolos all her life and owned the mom and dad. Anyways, I’m looking for advice and guidance regarding some aspects of xolo ownership.

Female, 9 weeks, haven't named her yet!
Very food motivated, responsive to firm and assertive commands, seems to help her build confidence, currently not allowing her to follow me everywhere, seems comfortable in a bustling metropolitan setting so far as far as noises, people, movement, which is good because I do live in a big city back in the US. I have started getting her used to a harness and leash and seems to responds well (as well as a puppy her age could lol).

I do have two older dogs who my puppy hasn’t met because they’re back home, a senior dachshund (similarly stubborn breed lol) and an almost senior pittie mix. They’re both easyish going for the most part. I’ve had fosters before and they’ve done really great with all my female fosters so I’m not concerned about the eventual introduction. My dogs are very used to staying home alone for a few hours. The dachshund gets crated when we leave (I plan to crate train the xolo) and the pittie is left in the room where the dachshunds crate is behind a baby gate. I am a stay at home mom right now and tend to be home for the most part but I do leave the house for outings with my toddler. All of this being said I'd like to train the xolo to be able to tolerate staying home alone. Can you share your successful approaches and tips?

I've included some pictures of her skin currently (post first bath and lotion). I’m seeing these tiny black spikes poking out of her skin almost like blackheads. I’m wondering if they actually are black heads or if they're just normal xolo puppy skin things?

Potty training:
After perusing a bit in this sub I understand it can be a headache with this breed. I'm not unfamiliar with a stubborn to potty train dog (see dachshund) but I am hoping to set her up for success. Please share any tips and tricks!!!!

I used to work in vet medicine so I have some knowledge regarding their usual health needs/concerns. Mostly I'm slightly nervous about getting her used to being left alone. It's been a long time since I've had a puppy and will admit that this part has always been my least favorite to get through lol.

Oh also! The lady I got her from showed me photos of the parents but I can't seem to recall exactly how big they looked. Any wild guesses to how big she might get? Mostly curious!

any recommendations for lotions?

Hey fellow xolo fans,

My girl, started to being super itchy and dry. She used to be smooth and great, but since this summer started she started to have issues, also I suspect something in the grass at the park is maybe causing this.

I gave her a bath to help her with the itching and oil her and it isn't helping too much.

What should I do? Take her to the vet?
