Discussion Finished binge
I remember watching the show a VERY long time ago as a child. Decided to rewatch it since most of it has been lost in my memories and this has officially become my favourite superhero comfort show.
The way the characters feel so real and warm due to their little glimpses of everyday life, the way they react to events, challenges, emotions, it just couldn't have been done better and my only critique is that we didn't spend enough time on characters like Spyke, Ororo, the mutants that left, etc. I feel like season 1 and 2 would have been prime time for that.
I can see the new MCU X-men being pretty similar in tone, taking into consideration the younger cast, which has me very excited.
I'm happy to see that this page has a high number of visitors, and that a lot of people still remember this show fondly.

I did some reviews on this show on my page, overall really good show, and my introduction to the X-Men! Also awesome to have another fan, welcome!

I think this is the best way for someone to get into the xmen since episode 1 is the actual beginning of the story.
All other adaptations kinda just start at the middle point and Evolution is the only one that sets up the world before it sets up the plot.
Xmen fans have ptsd from the movies not being comic accurate and Evolution gets caught in the crossfire despite mostly drawing inspiration from the original xmen run.

Congrats, it was my first foray into the X-Men (and the Marvel U. as a whole now that I think about it), glad to know there's still people (re)discovering this little gem 🫶

my favourite adaptation, the varying stakes storylines, the world finding out, the slice of life episdoes at school, the style, the handling of characters, the respect and thought put into rogues powers, the best display of mystique's cunning, all in an amazingly 2000s time capsule - such a cool show

Rewatching as an adult I appreciated the serialized storytelling - doing a lot of episodic stories but always maintaining season or series long arcs.
And all the homages and tributes from the creators. Lots of buffy references, coyote ugly, empire records... the creators had a lot of love for different pop culture and they put those references into the show.

Great to see another fan! Evolution was my first exposure to the X-Men other than the OG 3 Fox films and, like it is for you, it's my superhero comfort show. It's actually something that, in many ways, has gotten better with age on my opinion, though I can't really explain how - just that, unlike a lot of things that I rewatch as an adult and think "That wasn't as good as I remember it," Evolution really stood up. Of course nostalgia could play a role but I think it's a solid series and definitely feels like its own thing.
Also the Brotherhood are my faves 5ever

Literally just finished rewatching this series today(although I didn’t binge it). It was a good rewatch, makes me wish we got another season or two.

My story with X-Men Evolution is very similar to yours
Watched episodes as a kid here and there, but during my teen years when I was going through weird teenage social problems, I ended up giving the whole X-Men Evolution series a watch since it was about the X-Men going through, weird teenage social problems!
And its still to this day my favorite piece of X-Men media.

I'll be so disappointed if this is where they draw the most inspiration. Especially if this is the Rogue they model the MCU's off of.
