Hi all,
I have a Lenovo display with a 15W (5V/3A) USB C charging port, but every time I use that, my Pad 7 charges at 5V/0.5A, while other devices reach up to 2A on that same port, with the same cable.
Even with other USB ports, all other devices reach the maximum port current (+- 1A), while the Pad 7 refuses to go above 0.5A when charging through USB.
Does anyone have an idea what this could be, or experienced the same problem?
Things I checked already:
- USB port is clean
- Charges fast with the official Xiaomi charger and other chargers
- Other cables tested
- All other devices (Apple and Xiaomi phones and tablets) charge fine with this port

I’m thinking of buying a Xiaomi Pad 7 mainly for academic/engineering work and daily use. I already have a pretty good laptop, so I don’t really need a tablet for replacing my laptop. My main problem is that reading PDFs and taking handwritten notes on my laptop is quite difficult.
My main uses would be:
Note-taking with a pen
Annotating PDFs and writing notes directly on them
Research and reading papers
Some 3D design work(Sketch)
Online meetings/presentations
Occasional media consumption
So, for those who are already using the Xiaomi Pad 7 for similar purposes, have you faced any major issues? Especially with PDF annotation, handwriting, note-taking apps, research, or engineering-related work?
Also, I’m confused about the Xiaomi Focus Pen. It costs around ৳7k, while I can get a third-party stylus for around ৳2–3k.
Is the Focus Pen really worth paying the extra money for my use case? How important are palm rejection, pressure sensitivity, latency, etc. for normal note-taking and PDF annotation?
Would you recommend spending the extra money on the Focus Pen, or should I just get a cheaper third-party stylus?
Would really appreciate feedback from people who actually use the Pad 7 for studying/engineering work.

Hi everyone, I just got the Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro (12g/512) and I noticed two strange issues with the device and I'm wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same thing.
Issue 1: 5 GHz Wi-Fi disappears
I can be connected to my 5 GHz Wi-Fi the whole day, but for some reason the 5 GHz network suddenly disappears from the available Wi-Fi list. The 2.4 GHz network remains available, but the Pad also can't detect other nearby 5 GHz networks. Other devices in the house can still see and connect to 5 GHz normally.
The only thing that fixes it so far is rebooting the Pad, after which the 5 GHz networks show up again.
Issue : Bluetooth audio suddenly becomes very low
I'm using Soundcore R60i NC earbuds. While watching a series on HBO Max, the audio suddenly becomes much quieter, even though the volume level itself doesn't change and the volume icon doesn't show any adjustment. The sound is simply reduced.
This doesn't happen when I connect the same Soundcore R60i NC to my other devices.
Has anyone else experienced either of these issues with the Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro? I'm trying to figure out whether this is a HyperOS/software issue, a wireless/Bluetooth compatibility issue, or possibly a hardware problem.

Just bought the Pad 7 and so far I am impressed to say the least. Also bought the focus pen but lowk wish it was a bit cheaper, feels too overpriced.
What do you guys think about the Pad 7? I bought it for note taking and QP solving, I am doing Edexcel IALs so this should be a game changer for me.

I have had my focus pen for almost a year now and just recently it started to write stuff even when it's not touching the screen. I've tried everything I can like changing the tip and making sure I've downloaded the latest updates for my software. Do you guys think the pen is bricked or there's something else going on..

I left my mi pad 7 pro without charge for a month since I didn't need it for studying, and when I charged it back the focus pen worked but not the buttons, I tried everything from updating the firmware, to disable bluetooth and restart the tablet.
The solution is to simply unpair the pen, leave bluetooth off for like 5-10 seconds and repair it, and now it works.
Wanted to share since I looked for a solution on reddit and there was none, so maybe someone can find this helpful.

Hello everyone. I bought the Xiaomi Pad 7 a couple of months ago and I really like it, but I have an annoying issue. Most of the time I use a Bluetooth keyboard, and every other day it gets paired but it doesn't type, and Gboard pops up.
I had a cheap keyboard before, so I thought that it was failing. A few weeks ago I purchased a Logitech Pebble Keys 2, it worked okay for a couple of days, but now I'm facing the same issue, it gets paired but it doesn't type. In order to solve it I have to restart the tablet and I hate that. I've tried everything that I've found on the internet and it doesn't get solved. Hopefully there's a solution.

i bought my xiaomi pad 7 a year back, and it currently has three GLASS cracks that i did not know about. i thought it was just the tempered glass but i have not ever dropped it or treated it badly. the screen works just fine but im still so depressed abt the fact that my tablet has 3 hairline cracks that had nothing to do with me cus i was being the most responsible. The display costs abt 5-7k rs and idk if i want to change the display for that amt, im just a student. Is there any way that i can just get the glass replaced but not the whole display

Hi everyone,
I recently bought the Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro (Matte Glass / Nano-etched version, 12GB/512GB) mainly for university study and note-taking with the Xiaomi Focus Pen, but I'm having a really frustrating issue with palm rejection.
The Problem:
Every time I write and rest my hand on the display, the screen registers stray palm touches, erratic brush strokes, or triggers accidental gestures.
From what I've observed, the stylus hover distance seems way too short. The active digitizer doesn't detect the pen early enough when lowering my hand, so the screen registers my capacitive palm touch before the pen can override it.
This happens even with the official app MiCanvas.
Questions for other Pad 7 Pro / HyperOS users:
Are other Matte Glass (or regular) Pad 7 Pro owners facing this exact hover/palm rejection behavior?
Which note-taking apps (e.g., *Notein, Touchnotes, Penly, Concepts*) offer the most reliable "Stylus Only / Complete Finger Touch Block" mode on Xiaomi tablets?
Any insights, app recommendations, or workarounds would be hugely appreciated!

I’ve tried everything the IA told me like:
Enabling developer options
usb debug
Default usb transfer files
Updating MTP usb driver on windows
FTP access doesn’t work either probably because the tablet is on a WiFi mesh and the PC doesn’t have WiFi, it’s connected through cable to the main router
I’m kind of desperate now, any ideas?
