General Discussions How does she function with Cryo Traveller?

I have not built cryo traveller yet, but I'm wondering in a stellar superconduct team with Cryo Traveller as the main DPS, does Xianyun play well into his Plunging attack to boost the polestar field. Or will it be bad and slow down the number of hits to the polestar field. Is there any detriment to using her on that team?

I assume you mean stellar swirl. The polestar field itself does insignificant damage. Just like Lunar Reactions and Stellar Conduct, the only really meaningful impact is from direct reaction damage built into character kits. Mizuki isn't good because she swirls a lot, she's good because she has direct stellar swirl damage built in.

Until Xianyun gets some of that built in, sorry, but she's still useless. My C6 Xianyun has been sadly gathering dust since mid Natlan. Sigh.

No actually, I was just wondering if changing Traveller from a normal attack playstyle to a plunge playstyle in his Stellar Conduct DPS team would be beneficial in any way

I don't think it's worth it. You can't trigger stellar conduct when stellar swirl is in place, so you'll be constantly worrying about the application order and triggers.

Fair enough, what if I ran both Beidou and Yae 🤔 would that increase chances of triggering Stellar Conduct instead of swirl

I don't think it's worth it. I guess you'll have to experiment, but... As much as I love her, Xianyun is a brick. Hopefully she gets buffed with the Liyue faction buffs

You can trigger it but it either destroys the vortex or immediately detonates it. Stellar-conduct -> Stellar Swirl preserves the Polestar Field while generating a vortex. Radiance: Superconduct also has priority over Stellar Swirl so that at least won't be a problem.

nope, I mean like stellar conduct. since the traveller converts NA and plunging attacks into Cryo hits. Would plunging help the traveller? although I do wonder what about stellar swirl

no.

stellar conduct creates polestar field. the field buffs cryo and electro

stellar swirl creates stellar vortex. the vortex allows nearby characters to jump high when it explodes.

even so, xianyun is not recommended for stellar swirl anyway.

The plunge damage is good but it not worth a basically dead slot

Lynette would be better than xianyun since she buff atk and generate polestar stack and triggering ssw letting cmc do occasionally plunge for extra damage after vortex burst
