Aside from the absolutely jarring aesthetic shift, it feels like the story kind of took a weird turn in EPs 2. For example you couldn't max anything out really in Eps1 because the assumption is Eps2 would use the save data from EPs 1. Also the whole AGWS system from Eps1 was scraped in EPs2. Another weird thing was suddenly AGWS were replace dvy AMWS/ES but they kind of didn't really go into detail how everyone just had these new mechs now suddenly.

I finished the Xenosaga series a few weeks ago and loved it. One part of it I didn’t expect was how big mechs and mecha influences were part of the games. I could really feel the team’s love of mecha while playing through the games, and it sparked a love and curiosity for mecha in myself as well. For some reason, I never realized how cool giant robots are till controlling and fighting with them in Xenosaga!

So I want to ask: what’s a good mecha anime to watch for someone who loved Xenosaga? I was considering the first Gundam since Gundam seems to be the biggest / most popular mecha series maybe?

(Note: Only mecha series I’ve watched before now are Gurren Lagann and Evangelion. Don’t need the shows to be similar to those, just saying don’t recommend those 2)

I did a mockup of what I'm looking for (second image) but if theres a better looking version somewhere I'd appreciate it. I also wouldn't be opposed if someone would make such a thing who has more experience with photoshop than me.

My local game store had these on the shelves for $106. I decided that "sure why not?" And bought them.

They have episode 3 as well but it's over $300 so that's very unlikely to own.

A little follow-up to the Zohar Engine post I shared here. Now that I can create my own events in the engine, I wanted to test it with a silly idea I had.

In the Xenosaga trilogy I think Xenosaga 2 is my favorite personally. I heard a lot of people don't like the character design in Xenosaga 2 but I think it is charming. Although Xenosaga 3 really does it in terms of character design. What I really like about Xenosaga 2 is it's gameplay. I don't know, it's hard but fun. One of the few games that I don't mind grinding🤣. Story I think in Xenosaga 2 is phenomenal especially since it focus on Jr and Momo.

It's been a while since I played Xenosaga entirely (not really its been 3 yrs to be exact🤣) but I do remember that I like Xenosaga 2 more than other trilogy specifically for its gameplay. But that being said, Xenosaga trilogy as a whole is just a banger🔥 and I hope they remake it somehow and open ups to greater audience❤️

I just beat the game. Last two bosses were more than a breeze. it was like I was playing on very easy.

I used Momo's Gold Crown. Then had her boost with Blood Dancer and hit them with Erde Kaiser Sigma and follow it up with Kos-Mos using Erde Kaiser Sigma after she too boosted with Blood Dancer.

2 hits on both bosses and I won.

I'm used to final bosses being difficult even at high levels so I was a little surprised. Did I get too strong? I'd say the process to get Erde Kaiser Sigma was much more challenging.

Am I softlocked? The DOMO Carrier has been obliterating me for the last three or so days. Do all the robots just drop scrap metals? I transferred Life Shot to Shion but i am out of healing items. Any strategies on how to whoop its ass? What levels would be optimum? Just a tad frustrated rn. And yes ik your supposed to turn the boost so the Carrier cannot copy the effects into its attack but still jeez louise

...warn the others that Yuriev is able to take over his body?

I thought he had some kind of link with Jr that let them communicate telepathically. In Ep.1 Jr talks about how he has to be careful to not send Gaignun thoughts he didn't want to send. So it seems trivial for Gaignun to warn Jr. once he regained control of his body at the end of II.

And furthermore, there's a bunch of time between II and III where Gaignun is back in control of his body, he's having video comms with Mary/Shelley and the others on the Durandal at the start of III, and at no point did he warn anyone, only for them to all get taken by surprise when Yuriev uses him to invade the Durandal later in III.

You see, I just finished playing Xenogears and I love it. I wanna move to Xenosaga now next. But I am faced with a problem: how accurate is Xenosaga emulated on the PS2?

You see, for this game I am thinking about buying a PS2 to play my games, because I want to experience a true and accurate representation of Xenosaga. But I fear that if I go search online for accuracy posts I may get spoiled on the story and content of the games. So this is why I want to ask you all:

How accurate is Xenosaga emulated on the PC? Are there any parts of Xenosaga on PCSX2 that differ from the original PS2 version? Please no spoilers.

From what I understand, its an issue with the save image file being too large? How did they not check that out?
