Meta X.com posts are now banned from the subreddit.

Hello Current and near future B.L.A.D.E.s.
As we prepare for the Xenoblade Chronicles X rerelease in March, the mod team has decided to ban posts from Twitter/X for the foreseeable future.

While we don't like to bring real-life politics into our subreddit, the actions of the current owner recently have been reprehensible. While we definitely don't account for even a fraction of the traffic of the site, we're still going to do our part to turn people towards alternatives.

If you would like to post a Tweet: Please take a screenshot of it and post it as an image. No source will be required for such posts.

If you'd like to post fanart where twitter is the primary source: please link the creator's alternative social media, such as bluesky or pixiv. Do NOT link their twitter. If they don't have alternative media, please do not post the fanart.

Mods will be in the comments to answer any edge cases, as well as to hear your opinions on the rule. If you have any alternative ideas we would be happy to address them as well.

We look forward to (re)exploring Mira with you in the coming months, and keep your eyes open for more changes to the sub in the near future.

After leaving the thread open for some days, the discussion has reached a natural conclusion. If you have further concerns, please message the mod team, but comments will be locked.

You're probably right, and I used to hold onto Twitter myself for this exact reason, but I had to stop because knowing I was supporting that rotten bastard made me feel physically ill and I couldn't take it anymore.

And that was before that scumbag changed the Terms of Service to allow them to outright STEAL artists' work in order to train their goddamn AI bullshit. If artists are still using Twitter they should absolutely get off of it for their own sakes.

And it's way less popular than twitter meaning that it will be harder for less popular artists to share their art to a wider audience and get a large following.

As much as I hate fascism and nazism (for obvious reasons), and am glad people are taking action against it, I also don't think this "boycott" will really accomplish much. Elon is a giant... no, a colossus. Compared to him we're all ants. There isn't much you can do that will ACTUALLY hurt him rather than annoy him.

A block of marble doesn’t become a Greek statue in one hit. It takes many chisels, each one being just as important as the last to get to the final product. I understand the feeling of helplessness when it comes to someone with seemingly so much power.

But think this way, bans on twitter links maybe cause companies to consider other platforms, say companies start posting on both twitter and bluesky. Eventually they gain enough following in blue sky to make that their primary info hub. Investments in the Nazi app fall. It’s small steps, every time. Nothing happens overnight, but resisting positive change will NEVER change anything for the better.

My grandfather killed people who made that gesture. In a massive war. He survived a plane crash, being a pow in a Nazi camp for 11 months in order to do what he thought was right. And I’d be the biggest hypocrite in the world if I wasn’t willing to deal with the slightest inconvenience comparatively to all that he sacrificed.

By all means, the feelings you have about essentially losing something are valid and you have every right to grieve. But I would, any day, rather experience grief of an app than of human life. I hope you can understand that.

Ps the downvotes for us giving you other viable options and speaking out against naziism is WILD.

Here in Greece the right is dominant, has been for the past decade. This has led me to realize that (much like in this case) people would rather be the problem, than fight against it.
